Complaints rise as advertisers try text messaging

A new strain of spam, once thought of as the annoying messages that flood computer users, is invading Canadian cellphones at an alarming rate.

Canadians are getting more unwanted messages on their cellphones as wireless firms strike ad deals and rogue advertisers look for new ways to reach people with promises of everything from lower mortgage rates to get-rich-quick schemes.
