[/BQUOTE :I've noticed issues with Sprint in parts of FL too, but only where Sprint does not claim to have good coverage. The point I was making is Sprint does have pretty good coverage where they claim to in most cases, like metro NYC. I often visit a friend who lives in a rural part of Brooksville, FL and I barely get a native signal, but the maps says it as a roaming area so should be expected. Am able to roam fine though so no complaints. You don't want Sprint where they don't claim to have good coverage. Looks like they aren't too strong in Naples so should be expected.

Spring is second only to VZ in coverage, and they are pretty close.

It is true their CS used to suck, but it is above all now with call centers in the USA. My building is old and has poor cell service, they gave me a free AIRAVE with free service.
Never worry about minutes, data, or anything, roaming is free. -- This is not the greatest post in the world, no, this is just a tribute!

Got a Hero first, then gave that to my wife and got the EVO shortly after it came out. I only have had roaming in a few places ( (in the lower level of a business in Oradell, NJ - having to go more than a mile off the main hwy in bfe southern Indiana). The GPS navigation blows my TomTom away, it's unlimited (really unlimited) service, and the customer service has been responsive. All that and the price isn't bad either. I'll stick with them until they f up, and it would have to be pretty bad of an f up as I do love the EVO. -- Ever try stuffing a melted marshmallow up a wildcat's ass? | Mrq5The Fab Four join:1999-08-21 Warren, MI 1 edit | Same here, I like Sprint as well. They provide good (not great) value for your $$$. Their Everything Data Plan is what brought me over from VZW. I was with VZW for a long time and loved the service. In my area and travels I had great connection with VZW. I often had a solid signal when others did not and I could talk anywhere in my home using VZW. However I wanted a PDA 3 years ago and didnt want the high VZW prices so switched over to Sprint. Overall happy with price/features but the service is not as reliable "for me" as VZW was.
Not sure if more towers are needed or not but I wish my signal was more solid, including data and GPS. I have just accepted the frequent dropped connections or not having solid signal in all areas of my home with Sprint since I like the price/features. With VZW my signal was never a problem, it was just the price. Over the last few years I fear a dropped call every time I drive under a freeway overpass. Never gave it a thought with VZW. In my area metro Detroit, I often talk to others with the same issue. Some go with Sprint for similar reasons as I do or others chalk the higher VZW cost up as "you get what you pay for". VZW is great, but my work phone is ATT and it drops calls like it is normal, especially if they send my ass to the Brooklyn office. In densely populated areas I just expect to drop calls on ATT.
One caveat is that ATT is the only thing that works in the deep woods of the Adirondacks so it is a good emergency phone.
I had VZW for a longtime, they were Bell Atlantic Mobile when I signed up with them, but Sprint became just as good, and they covered the highways better IMO, and I was on the road a lot at the time so five years or so ago I switched.
Customer service used to be horrible, over the last year it suddenly became the best. People even call you back to make sure the help was still useful, and have you rank them. | subscriber gain? buying other mvno companies and merging their PRE-EXISTING customer base isn't really an addition when you have to PAY REAL MONEY to acquire those subscribers.. your just buying more of an ever shrinking market for cell phone customers.. a market which is evolving from post paid to prepaid in the pace of the last 5 years.
these customers are increasingly:
NOT wanting to be tied to a contract. WANT cheaper handsets uncrippled by carriers CHEAPER & competitive (which benefits the CONSUMER)unlimited calling and unlimited data plans CHOICES and OPTIONS of which services and/or features to buy based upon price and the ability to bring the SAME handset to any other carrier-- thus an orange to orange comparison (won't use apples since that company is rotten -almost- to the core).
expect more price erosion from the $40-$60 unlimited plans-- try unlimited voice, text starting at $20/month in the space of 1 year. Adding Data in for another $10-$20 per month quota to unlimited plans (which includ EVERY other HANDSET supported feature possible by the carrier included in the $10-$20 fee).
