(old news - 02:28PM Friday Jul 08 2005)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Sprint Corp. unveiled its arrival onto the wireless broadband scene yesterday, more than a year and a half after one of its top rivals, Verizon Wireless, started offering broadband Internet service.

Sprint plans to provide mobile broadband service to about 150 million people by early next year. The service will be available in business districts and airports in 34 markets by the end of this month. It already came online this month in 17 of those markets, including Kansas City.

Nonsense

You would think that Sprint would be more concerned about bringing DSL to those customers that desire it instead of trying to fill in the ever dwindling holes in Hotspot network. I just moved to Johnson County Missouri home of Sprint HQ, and I must say for being in their home court, their DSL coverage is pathetic. I moved from Indiana where SBC is doing a damn fine job of getting service to those that desire it. Sprint, on the other hand has a "we don't really give a damn," mentality. Their employees are uninformed, rude, and unhelpful. Trying to get a straight answer from them is like pulling teeth. If you have the means, I would strongly advise finding any other ISP besides Sprint. Look it up people, Sprint has more complaints for it's service and billing than any company I've ever seen. Missouri sure made a mistake when they didn't dereg for SBC back in 2003.
