SuperBowl Will Be Streamed Live Again
Hopefully Round Two Fares Better Than Round One
by Karl Bode 02:28PM Thursday Dec 20 2012
The NFL has fallen well behind other leagues in adapting to the broadband age (MLB's $25 a month streaming option for all games being exhibit A), though last year the league finally streamed the SuperBowl live for the first time ever. Reviews weren't particularly hot, with many users complaining of lag or delay, and Chrome users being unable to watch the stream whatsoever. This week the NFL announced they'll be giving it another shot with CBS (instead of NBC) this time handling the streaming duties on February 3. The stream should be viewable on NFL.com, CBSSportsline.com, and Verizon's NFL Mobile app for wireless devices.

Chrome

I watched the NBC stream on Chrome without any issues at all. Wonder what happened to all the other users.

Only one chrome system at a time. You prevented everybody else from getting the stream.

Cellular communications

Hopefully the cellular companies will step up their game too. Cellular service sucks during Mardi Gras (AT&T customer). Having the super bowl DURING mardi gras is going to be a huge overload of their systems if they don't adequately plan for and deploy a better system.

Re: Cellular communications

Now there is a good idea! Keep using these shitty networks that have no idea how to stream anything properly

Well good thing you can only watch it on Verizon's network then.

The Commercials as they're meant to be seen......

This could be GREAT news for us canucks who get Canadianized content during the game and miss some of the greatest commercials EVER. (Thanks a lot CTV )

I'll be checking it out online for sure......and hopefully, the commercials will be there too.

(and yes, I know you can watch the commercials online afterwards...it's just not the same)

Not worth it even free

kofss if for free, but I don't have the patience to watch something that has 1 hour of game time, but will all the commercials and drama thrown in takes about 5 hours of real time, and that's not counting the pre and post game commentaries which take more time than the game itself.

YAWN!!!!

I like EPL and Spanish Premier League, 45+ minutes per half, no commercials. That's why it'll never be popular here in the USA, the asshats with marketing and advertising degrees can't monitize it such that there are commercials every 3 minutes.

Re: Not worth it even free

I don't understand why they don't do it like we do down here in South America, just use adverts in the stadium and then use the borders of the screen to show adds every 10 minutes or so for 2 minutes.

I don't mind it while watching soccer.
