T-Mobile CEO John Legere Offers Up Some Christmas Greetings
This is relatively funny (at least the ending is). Hopefully we'll see AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson and Verizon CEO Lowell McAdam post similar fireside Christmas video chats soon too, right?

Merry Xmas, Verizon

I have the feeling this is not going to be a very Merry Christmas for Verizon, AT&T and possible Sprint. The first 2 have never wanted to compete on price, but now they are getting forced into it. I'm test driving TMobile on my VZW Note 3 and am happy with it so far.

Re: Merry Xmas, Verizon

T-Mobiles network is very sparse. Try going into a few basements or bathrooms their service could disappoint you. I have Verizon and I tried T-Mobile prepaid and while the data was fast when I had service, but the problem was huge coverage holes or dropping to EDGE inside buildings or out of town. Id really try testing it everywhere and every situation. I couldn't even hold a call in the back of my repair shop when I tried them.
Good luck!

That was beautiful!!!

If I wasn't on a contract with VZW, I probably would switch. I just bought the Motorola Moto X unlocked for VZW that can work on GSM.

Now, why the frack did they bleeped out what he said towards the end?!?

Why wait? They will pay your ETF. All you have to do is trade in an old clunker phone and buy a new one. Buy the cheapest POS they sell...

If I could save money with T-Mobile...

I might think about switching. But currently on Verizon I only pay $60(before taxes) for unlimited data and texts. I would be paying 33% more(before taxes) if I switched to T-Mobile.

Not seeing it myself. Just checked VZW and TMO. There is no $60 unlimited data plan for VZW. You got a great deal. TMO has 3GB for $60. VZW was 1GB for the same price, $60. Good for you!

I am sitting pretty too. I pay $60 for unlimited calls/text/data and they just included a 5GB mobile hotspot at no additional cost out of nowhere on 12/20. TMO LTE is amazing in the Seattle/Tacoma area.

Hey T- crappy - Mobile -

In lieu of these insipid commercials how about investing some of your $ into infrastructure?

I had your craptastic service in the early 2000's and service in my town was spotty. Garbled vm's ....constant dropped calls / service.

I have AT&T now and the service is great. Anyways I checked your "lack of coverage" map for my area and guess what? Still spotty coverage.

But carry on with pithy commercials and all that junk....

Re: blah

They are investing their network in bigger in bigger cities like in NYC and LA first. Rural areas next year.

Re: blah

Rural areas they already cover. Their goal is ~300 million. As of 2010, they claimed their network covered 293 million. Taking into account population growth and any improvements they made in those 4-5 years, it appears they plan to barely expand their network much if any at all. Sure they will have LTE coverage over nearly their entire network but their network will still be in a distant 4th place for size.

They have been investing into their network. 0-260million LTE POPS in 2 years. With more to come and the deployment of 700mhz network will help with reach into rural area's. It will take the a bit, if ever, to get to the reach of vzw/ATT imo. But tmo doesn't work for all, nice to have options isn't it.

In early 2000? LOL. In early 2000, before the big take over wave, Cingular/SBC( the new ATT today ) had less coverage than TMO and Verizon desperately needed roaming agreements with Alltel because their rural coverage was minimal.
Amazing, the crap you hear from TMO haters and right wing big corporate shills.

Re: blah

When you start your argument as a child I couldn't help but say that you are hating. Any normal person would realize that the company has been trying to improve it's network and it's image. You are also comparing something from 2000's. When I was on Cingular most of the time I was on 2G or a roaming partner. I had a 450 minute plan with no texting with rollover minutes for god knows how much.

Mind you this was driving in Miami and when we took a Orlando trip the bars of my phone will go from full to zero and back as you approached cell towers on the Turnpike. So comparing an experience from 2000s to now is ridiculous.

So now that a company is actually doing what they are suppose to do and expanding coverage that isn't good enough for you? No, you instead just post hate on something you know is completely irrelevant. If it took Cingular which is now AT&T up to 14 year's which is based on your 2000 timeline just to get where they need to be, T-mobile will do those improvements in 1/4 of the time. Regardless of how you feel about Legere, all the BS he is talking is benefiting everyone across the board.

Re: blah

Again it's been like what , 10 plus years and they have done NOTHING to improve coverage around here. So what is the wonderful t-mobile doing? Other than having hipster infested commercials? Invest some of that money they got from AT&T and put it into infrastructure..but that would make sense.

Re: blah

I am just going to assume that you have done a test drive with T-mobile recently to state your claim. If you have not then this conversation is pointless.

United States is not Wayne, NJ. Major swaths of areas have been upgraded across the country. Even looking up on the coverage map your area should have good coverage. On the west side of Wayne there are some 2G areas there but you should still have coverage. By the end of 2015 all 2G sites should be upgraded to LTE anyway so it's safe to assume those 2G areas will disappear.

The hipster commercials get to me as well but because I have excellent performance and great coverage here in Miami I have no complaints.

I've borrowed a friends t mobile phone (galaxy s4) and the dropouts still continue. The service works fine for him as he's in a bigger city.

Re: blah

»spectrum-gateway.appspot ··· rum.html

If you look at your location you will notice that the current area for low band LTE is being utilized by TV station WNJN. Until that TV station relocates to a different channel the entire area will rely on 1700/2100mhz LTE. Of course there is no excuse for dropping calls but the entire area is owned by T-mobile to deploy 700mhz LTE. So it's more or less a waiting game in that regard which might be the reason you haven't seen any improvements in your area since it might not be considered a bigger city.

Just my 2 cents.

Funny. New aproaches everywhere.

So far, a really happy TMO customer since more than 7 years. And it's getting better and better. Now with my TMO's ZTE Zmax, for $ 212 icluding taxes, I have a nice phablet which does everything I need.

Have to hand it to the Uncarrier ..... must be different.

This is quite funny and the marketing guys who scripted this did a fairly good job. John Legere comes across as an unconventional man and lives up to that filling in this video.... the bleeps at the end are particularly funny.

TMo has been good for the consumer. I hope in 2015 they continue to do things that push the other carriers to do more and better. I hope that their network coverage improves to the point that I can seriously tell my company's IT folks that to drop T and go with the Magenta carrier for all the phones we have in the company.
