| | | Re: ANd ATT too AT&T is really something aren't they.
They are only "reactive," when they sense the heat is on.
They have the money and resources to have their entire network at 21 Mbps if they wanted to but they flip flop more than a fish out of water.
First they say they are going to 21 Mbps. Then they say they're going to skip HSPA + and go right for LTE. Then they say they'll have the top 25 markets "7.2 Mbps ready," by the end of 2010.
Now, in almost a knee-jerk reaction to T-Mobile's announcement this AM they come out with this.
Gotta love competition. Makes me think that AT&T sees T-Mobile USA as a real threat more and more each day.

In addition to the HSPA 7.2 software, initial deployment of backhaul is already underway in the six U.S. cities announced in 2009 as initial HSPA 7.2 markets Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and Miami, with capabilities being turned up on a site-by-site basis beginning last month. Further backhaul deployment will continue in these markets and begin in additional markets across the nation. We anticipate that the majority of our mobile data traffic will be carried over the expanded fiber-based, HSPA 7.2-capable backhaul by the end of this year, with deployment continuing to expand in 2011.
|
| | | | | Re: ANd ATT too Ha! So AT&T is not going to complete their 7.2 HSPA roll-out until 2011?!?!?! Yikes. TMO will have 21 HSPA+ deployed 3G network-wide by then. | |

| | | In all the articles I have read no where does it say T Mobile has increased there back-haul to their new 7.2 towers just that they upgraded the network software. Kind of sounds just like what at&t did but at least they were honest and said all they did was the software to all towers and back-haul in 6 markets. Off all the blogs I have read today about T Mo's upgrade 90% have said they see no difference in speeds. As for the rest thinking T Mo's network is faster, you have the least if any Data centric devices on that network so almost all of the traffic is voice. If you think I am joking At&t has 40 to 50 million data devices on its network. That is 50% more than VZ. Now if VZ has half the devices what do you think T Mo has? All the points I have listed above can be found in stock reports as well as 3rd quarter earnings. And for the guy who said he did not care that his Droid on VZ can't do data and voice at the same time and it can wait till he hangs up, You are so lying or have no clue what you are missing. All a bunch of haters on this site. I bet at&t is the reason why our economy sucks, the war in Iraq and our health care problems.. lol | |

Makes my WinMobo's Sprint connection pale in comparison now. T-Mobile's lack of a 3G network had always kept me from switching to the Android phones which I so crave... but this looks promising.
If this turns out to be consistent throughout their network (and their coverage doesn't have any gaping holes in it) then bring it on!
For comparison... my trusty old Sprint speeds on my phone. About the same everywhere I go since 2005.

TM and iWireless are partners. iWireless would NOT have the services they currently do and coverage being one of them if it was NOT for TM. If TM pulled the plug on that agreement iWireless would be the one sinking. NOT TM. TM could also decide to pull the agreement and then charge iWireless customers roaming.
