ME is very nice but cities are extremely distant from each other after Portland, and to set coverage in locations where even providing power is a problem can be a big hassle and requires a large investment, I can see them improving their coverage once they are done with their HSPA+ rollouts and more money starts coming in as more subscribers sign up for data and better offers from T-mobile, you need to give it at least two years though because many people are still under contract. | |

I'll check it out, I'm already a member. 15% on T-Mobile would work to make it about the same cost as Sprint, and lower than Sprint on a 4G phone (assuming T-Mobile doesn't introduce a 4G charge). There is no up-charge for these 4G speeds.

| | Extra Charges- No I spoke to a rep today and they confirmed that there will be no additional charges for any features or the 4G. The same $24.95 I am paying now will cover the 4G. The hotspot feature also won't cost more.
I have a friend who has a Nexus One on Tmobile and the hotspot feature works great. | |

With sprint you can call any mobile phone no matter what carrier without using your minutes. Also, your anytime minutes start at 7pm. I cant comment on phone speeds. As I don't have sprint. But 12mbps damn that is fast for a cell phone. | |

Brooklyn, NY | HSPA vs HSPA+ or "the first ever phone..." In short HSPA = HSDPA + HSUPA = ~14Mbit down + ~5Mbit up (practical tests, not TMO speeds but theoreticals are even faster)
HSPA+ = Evolved HSPA = ~42/56Mbit down + ~11Mbit+ up (theoretical)
In other words having a HSPA or a HSPA+ handset makes no difference whatsoever and won't make in the next couple of years either.
Bottom line: you can max out TMO's 3.5G network with any half-decent Snapdragon phone already.

Springfield, OR | wimax is just as fast and has better coverage for those that are interested in this service, Sprint/Clear WiMAX is just as fast and has considerably more coverage. Speed is advertised around 3-6Mbps with 10Mbps bursts, but those are more like minimums by my observation (unless you're on a saturated tower or have poor reception maybe). Most people realistically see 7-12Mbps on WiMAX with their smartphones (EVO/etc) and get way better coverage with complete 3G fallback where WiMAX isn't available. Here in Oregon, T-Mobile only has their 3G network in Portland while Clear/Sprint has 4G along most major cities along I-5 from Portland to Eugene (including Salem, Wilsonvile, etc), and 3G everywhere else.

I'm sure its possible to find some good peak speeds but whats important is the combined average of what people get while being mobile. From what I have seen Sprints estimate is accurate.

This is pretty much the norm from what I've seen reported in most of the forums (maybe 5-8Mbps range for the EVO itself) I've seen this talked about on, I wager those who see consistently less usually have poor testing methology in place (or a poor connection/some other technical problem/etc), as I've usually noted is the case.
