Austin, TX, Jul. 30 (UPI) -- A Texas official Friday predicted the state's tax holiday would save families $46 million in sales taxes when they shop for school supplies next month.

Texas is one of a dozen states that now offer sales tax holidays, usually preceding the school year, to give parents a break on back-to-school purchases.
