Sounds as if his vocal tubes are clogged up, actually he started giving this oration on a Monday. Why must we tax and nickel and dime everything to death? I wouldn't worry too much. The Dems now control the Senate and they no longer care what Stevens wants. And they have their own agenda to pursue and this bill would be way down the list. I am sure, EVENTUALLY, a new internet bill will be introduced that may have a USF component, but it won't be Stevens bill.
I'd like to see the whole USF killed off entirely, but if there is one, then cable and VOIP firms should share the burden. -- -- My BLOG My Web Page

Of course, the rest of the country will have a choice in the matter. We will get to choose either squat or bupkis.

| | | What was he talking about? I'm lost in all of his and and and talk. And what was he talking about. "One of my staff sent me an internet the other day and I just got it today". Not quite sure what he was trying to say. Was he talking about email? If that's the case his problem is spam. They are now, thank to those who abused the system (i.e., Atlanta School System). We now get audited on every single application, which slows down an already convoluted and nearly incomprehensible process.
The bad thing is that the people doing the auditing are as clueless about the technology as Ted is. Nothing like having to answer the same questions fourteen times before they finally understand the answer.

| | They call this government inefficiency Funny how they will call this bill "the poster child for government inefficiency, fraud, and waste" but yet when some communist pinko democrat tries to shove a shitty communist health care program or some bloated federal school spending program its like some kind of utopia that will be more efficient than what the private sector will do? Why is it that when communist democrats offer something that will grow government the morons on here think it will be great and efficient and for the people, but if a Republican offers the same thing it is to be despised and considered to be fraud and inefficient? Government is evil, and so are communist liberals. The only good communist is a dead one! | |
