If your daughter is looking for porn using the Wii it's because she went ACTIVELY looking for it. She learned about it from somewhere (that means you have poor control over the influences in your child's life) and she used the Wii without parental controls, or unlocked them (meaning that you are either an idiot for not using the parental features or your child is smarter than you and does not respect you). Regardless, your arguments are spurious and a clear indicator that you lack basic reasoning and critical thinking skills. In my last house there was a homeowner's association (yuk!!) and I was trying to get the rules changed so you could park a motorhome in the driveway for a couple of days a month to make it easier to get ready for a long trip. One of the neighborhood moms stood up and said, "What about the children? They may get hurt playing around a motorhome." I told to her to sit down and shut-up if she didn't have anything useful to add...but my recommendation was voted down by all the angry moms trying to protect their brats.

Now it will suck your kid into porn ala Poltergeist. There are parental controls, and you have to enter in your password before you search, but after that it is open game. Keep in mind this is the trial version, I would assume that the final version would have some type of content control.

| | Next up: Bleatings regarding Child Porn and Wii. You just know they are coming(so to speak...).
I have a relative(by marriage) who has raised her son with game consoles. So she can continue her self-actualizing existence, the kid has gotten one of every game console known to man, and she regularly drops off the newest titles on his bed.
Cheaper than a babysitter, easier than actually taking a parental role in the child's life. No matter that the kid evinces issues at every turn. No life compromises for that woman. The kid just stares blankly into a TV screen and occasionally drools a bit. Sometimes, he dreams of a career possibility: professional skateboarder.
Sheesh.
Perhaps if parents took a more active role in a child's life, and stopped treating technology as a way to divest themselves from their bothersome little buggers, none of this would be an issue? Ya' think?

| Stupid This was from a TV station local to me. I cringed when I saw the promo talking about this segment the other day. The truth is, if you are a parent who is willing to provide broadband access to your child, it's your job to monitor your child's usage, on the computer, on the Wii, on the PS3, or any other connected device for that matter. Chalk this story up to lack of useful local news that day. | |

| | Think about PARENTAL CONTROL!! The Wii has parental controls, people. If you don't want your kid playing inappropriate games or viewing porn online, than set parental controls. Sure, the way the Wii is used may look like you need to jerk-off with the Wiimote to do something on a game, and when parents think their kids are becoming sexually active playing their new Wii, but truth be told, a parent has more influence in a kid's life! It's just that many of todays parents smoke crack, don't supervise their kids, and don't set a good influence, pretty soon, before we all know it, today's kids do the same thing! Sure, the media may have a lot to do with it, but the parent can stop the kid. Don't let your kid be exposed to every single pop-star whore, or rappers that make kids think that drugs are cool. Take these steps, people, especially parents:
DON'T try to get new video game laws going, because it deprives other people of their rights! It's a free country. Just because one person's pissy doesn't mean they have to make a stupid new law. I think America could learn a lot from me . DON'T always blame the media for the way your kid acts. You have more influence. DON'T blame the way the Wii works! Besides, why would Nintendo let a porn game or any game that stimulates sexual activity on to their system? They're as sex-savvy as a clergy member! Keep in mind that the ones who ARE putting the porn games on are the X-box 360 and the PS3 DO realize that the internet is like an infinite encyclopedia. Anything can be found online. And of course the internet has porn! Don't be stupid, parents! DO keep a good influence one your kid's life, or the next generation will be filled with even more crack whores and high school wastoids than ever before. Would you want that?
