re:Senate panel unanimously opposes giving U.N. more Interne
Good news as far as I am concerned. A bi-partisan Senate is unanimous against the UN getting more power over the Internet. But will US opposition stop the UN from grabbing the authority thru UN Assembly action? I doubt it. This isn't something the US can stop with a Security Council veto.
I think it is a great idea. But, unfortunately, I doubt it will go very far because mobile devices need chip support for it to work. And as long as most mobile devices are subsidized by cellphone carriers on 2 yr contracts, they won't include that support in the devices they subsidize. So adoption of DTV will depend on a shift to mobile device customers shifting to unsubsidized devices. Possible, but very slim chance that will happen soon. -- »www.gop.com/2012-republican-platform_home/ »www.gop.com/2012-republican-plat···onalism/
FWIW, 10.6.8 is currently the last great OS X release. It is natural for bloat to add to software issues. iOS isn't magical and will suffer from the same problems as most other software applications as they grow and mature. Personally, I'm done with iOS. I've tried forcing myself to embrace it, I just can't do it. My son will have my SIM-less iPhone to play games on until it dies. I'll continue enjoying my Android devices.

Not to me it ain't. Everything went downhill after 10.4.7, particularly stability. 10.4.7 on PPC and Intel was bulletproof, 10.4.8 and later not so much. Not it is Windows with a better GUI. 10.6.x just fixed the disaster that was 10.5.x Tiger is still the shiznit.
Hey, legacy junk is cool stuff and no Tiger...because like all things Apple...great things are quickly abandoned. It's not like XP where you have a fairly trusty platform still supported by developers and patched by MS. And it isn't like you can buy a new Mac and slap Tiger on it or even SL for that matter.
It's a half baked mess for tons of people. More people partaking in the mess isn't going to make it better...only them FIXING it will make it better and even then Google has an eon long head start. I mean how does Apple even begin to compete with street view which I use ALL the time. Especially here locations aren't exactly where they show on a map or locations are best entered from a particular street or particular direction and you can only get that from Google Street View or that Microsoft close in photo-airplane view.
