| Re: BidenSpy C-NET reported Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) said he was under the impression it's "pretty easy to pick out the person engaged in either transmitting or downloading violent scenes of rape, molestation" simply by looking at file names. He urged use of those techniques by investigators to help nab the most egregious offenders.
Shame it doesn't work for "todays_winning_lottery_numbers.doc" I keep in my "You're_FARKIN_kidding_right" folder.

| Re: BidenSpy Actually, kiddie porn sickos are using P2P to transfer pics and videos around to each other.
Won't someone please think of the encryption!?! Wonder what the (law enforcement)geniuses will do when all the p2p traffic is encrypted? Just assume everyone is terrorist, pedophile, pirate? Oh wait they do that already.
Next thing you know the FBI will put up some fake kiddie porn on a link on a web forum and raid people houses based on just clicking a link. Oh wait they do that already. Better hope you don't get "Rick rolled" into one of those links.
I'm all for locking up child predators, but let's use some common sense and let's not forget the Constitution is more than "just a damn piece of paper!"

Won't someone please think of the encryption!?! Wonder what the (law enforcement)geniuses will do when all the p2p traffic is encrypted? That might be true if all they do is look at the session's packets. OTOH, if they get access to the .torrent file, they can fire up their own Torrent client and feed the .torrent file to it, monitor whose IPNs are currently in the peer cloud, and download the files (even though the session itself is encrypted). Seeing the contents of the downloaded file is, of course, assumes that the file is not password protected (as some files I have seen are). That would require not only the .torrent file but the associated password.

| also remember Kiddie porn is an easy way to get bills past the non RIAA purchased law makers. im all for laws to stop and lock up those who do create/distro/use kiddie porn but not if the bill is backed by people using pedophiles as a cover for anti-piracy. -- [65 Arcanist]Filan(High Elf) Zone: Broadband Reports | |

| Yes, Crackdown on Cell Users!!! Especially in the car. Gyms ban them due to guys spying on women. Even tanning salons banned them.
I support this law:
Cellphone Ban Act of 2008
This Act adds to the Patriot Act.
You may not use your cellphone for any reason in any of the listed areas: 1. All methods of private transportation including cars, trucks, and motorcycles (yes, we've see it). 2. Planes and trains. You can only use your cellphone on a train in the lavotory. 3. All government buildings. 4. All restaurants and bars. 5. All stores. 6. Public sidewalks. 7. Employers may ban them in their offices or work sites.
Exceptions: 1. Law enforcement. 2. The White House, Congress, State Legislatures, and Governor's offices. 3. Sports stadiums since no one can hear you anyway. 4. Political venues.
If you are caught using a cellphone in any of the aforementioned places, it will be confiscated by law enforcement, your will be fined $500, and you will have to pay $100 to get the cellphone out of impound. If caught using one on an airplane, you will be subjec to arrest with a $1,000 fine and a maximum of 60 days in jail. All cellphones calls, text messages, and Internet browsing are subject to law enforcement inspection without prior notice.

Would be a shorter list if you just said, you can't use it;
1. Anywhere you can't smoke and your car.

There would be quite a few out there would say the same about the crackberrys and the phones, blue tooth headsets seemingly glued to/into peoples ears.
Yea, that is pretty assinine. They are politicians, with all the practice they get good at it.
