Broadband customers overcharged by poor usage calculators

Regulators should require all broadband providers that charge for or limit usage, provide an easily accessible usage report. The usage report would be in the form of a webpage that shows the total usage that has accrued for the billing period. To be fair to the customer, the data downloaded accessing the webpage should not count against their monthly allocation. The ISP could use the ID Number of the wireless modem to direct the users browser directly to the correct usage file without requiring a login. Customers would always know how much of their monthly allocation that they have used anytime they used their broadband service.

Re: Maybe just get rid of world internet

are you kidding, that wouldnt even be enough for them. remember the Utopia of the entertainment business is one where they control every single aspect of media from studio to your home and on top of that when and where it can be viewed or heard. in their perfect world we would also lease the right to use media(think the failed Circuit City Divx player and media) and if they decide they dont want people to see said film they just revoke the licenses.

of course this is why the fear the internet, not piracy but control which they fear loss of. the net allows an indy artist to release an album and get it to a wide audience without using their rigid system. they just cant live with that.

Re: Maybe just get rid of world internet

Maybe they just should remove the speakers and remove the screen, so things can't be watched and or heard. The entertainment industry makes no sense.
