Over half of American homes don't have or use their landline

One of the reasons that homeowners do not use their landlines is that they use their cell phones for long distance calls and even short distance, long distance calls. The issue is that most customers do not change their wireless telephone number when they move to a different city or rate center, to a local number, so the only way to reach the wireless customer is to place a long distance call even if the called person is living next door.

I do not understand why the wire line carriers did not simply lower the price for service in order to attract more customers. The only choice the wire line carriers offer customers now is high priced bundles. Those customers wanting to order services alacarte find the individual cost is prohibitive. Wire line carriers have also included crap charges to inflate the price of service. If the wire line carriers offered competitive pricing wireless service might still have remained a luxury.

Wireless is more profitable, less regulated and there is none of the costs associated with wires, among other things. Customers defecting to wireless on their own is a win/win for the big boys.

BlackBerry 10 browser smokes iOS6 and Windows 8 in test

said by bgr.com :

Research In Motion’s (RIMM) BlackBerry 10 is shaping up to be quite the contender, but does it have what it takes to knock iOS 6 off its podium and prevent Windows Phone 8 from gaining momentum to become the third-most popular mobile operating system?

Doubt it... People don't care about quality anymore. RIM had their time to shine. As much as I'd like to see them make it, they missed the bus on this release by a few years.
