Tariffing the Internet

To keep this simple, and I don't know if the following is a sentence ---- If the big ISP's were providing good customer service, instead of bad | heavily reinvesting in infrastructure, instead of trying to buy out the competition | allowing Netflix (for example) to flow freely into their networks, instead of manipulation, we wouldn't be having the conversation about regulation. ISPs have themselves to blame for the backlash of American citizens rallying to the cause of net neutrality and government over-sight.

ISPs have proven they are not trustworthy with the interests of the public. What do we do with industry that can't be trusted? We regulate them (like it or not). I don't know if the nuclear option is the best route to go in, but I do know we, the public, can't let this industry go untethered forever.

Microsoft is testing playing Xbox games in your browser...

What a great idea! I can't wait until my ability to play any given game depends on it still being available on a company's servers! I mean it's worked out so well in the past! I think maybe I'll pay a little City of Heroes, Aliens Online and Star Wars Galaxies...
