| | The truth behind the bandwidth caps comes out.
This is why Time Warner is drooling over the concept of implementing data transfer limits and it's exactly why the government should not be allowing Internet service providers to also be content providers. It's a conflict of interest.

| | | greed is greed and these companies are like the dinosaurs. they just will not learn.hey i had to learn.i have lots of studio gear but you know what...... bands nowadays will just do the work themselves and not pay us pros who used to do it for them. at least for me i need my gear as i still play in two punk bands and use my gear for all my art. | |

| Taking things out of context quote: theres been fairly steady trends over some time period now for adult to go down, largely because theres that kind of material available on the Internet for free.
Really? There's video on the web of adults going down? You don't say.

| | Draw conclusions said by Time Warner CFO :Time Warner Cable CFO told call attendees "I wouldnt draw any conclusions quite yet." By the time they draw the conclusions, it will be too late for their business model. It is not just porn revenues. Everything is available on the Internet if you know where to look. I think the cord cutters are in much larger number than they care to admit, but like me a lot of people keep only the very basic video service tier, because it costs only $18 per month, but without it my Internet access would cost $10 more. | |

But you're saying that you pay ~$18 more a month for the basic cable tier service to save ~$10 on your cable Internet fees,.....?

| | | | Re: Draw conclusions Yes. Basically it works out to $8 for the TV. I live in a rual area where we have absolutely no OTA reception. | |

| "tube" sites? Time Warner Cable executives don't like to acknowledge that Internet video will ever really pose a threat to traditional TV, but they were willing to acknowledge in a recent earnings call that free online porn via "tube" websites has been dragging revenues down. You mean those tube sites that have nothing but 30-90 second preview clips put there by pay sites? | |

| | Soft Porn Sorry Time Warner but I will reply to this topic with words from my wife of whom I have just told this story too over the phone.
Mrs. Axiomatic: "Sorry Time Warner, but the porn you offer is a little too "soft porn" for mine and my husbands tastes."
There you have it TW.... from the mouths of the ladies even.

| your prices are the problem You want $8-12 for a viewing session of a single movie!! err... not that I'd be aware of such things...
If you lowered your prices to say $1-2 per view session, or if you offered a scheme where the $8-12 allowed you to view ALL the possible choices it might do better... umm, ahh, at least that's what I've heard my friends say...
|
| | Just wait until this arrives! Noticed the Comcast story about how they are testing $10 a month, and $150 PC for Miams & Delaware 'poverty cases'. Once those families load up online....... Might have to go back to my magazine stash. | |

| | Time Warner Cable's Porn Problem Im surprised anyone is still sitting in front of a TV to consume it. Smartphones have taken this need away. Personally, I visit a couple of sites but use a live cam site mainly to get the real deal with real girls paying attention just to me. People are fed up of acting, and the frankly ridiculous plotlines. What I like is the fact that I can call the shots, and no-one else! | |
