In 2000 there were 518,000 households in Maine. | |

If you assumed no one in Maine had access to broadband then that means over 20% of the households in Maine would be helped. That's would be quite good number being helped. Since we know that at least some households in Maine have broadband the numner of non-broadband households that are going to be helped is going to be much higher than 20%. Probably closer to 40%. If we could do that nationwide within the next 5 years we would actually be making progress. I doubt we'll see those results though. | |

| Re: Ideal use of the Stimulus Well, that's the point. This broadband stimulus spending in Maine is actually doing something useful--- bringing good broadband to many without. Not being wasted given to existing players who will pocket it or spent on endless "studies" of the issue, but actual progress.
