IBM: Your PC will read your mind by 2016 [theregister.co.uk]

Sure, and we'll all have flying cars by the year 2010. Exactly how many of their past predictions have come true?

Seriously, they've been working on voice recognition since the 1990s and computers still can't understand natural speech.

Flying cars have been promised for decades. Voice recognition has been around almost as long... anyone remember the Tandy/Radio Shack Color Computer E.A.R.S. module? That was circa 1985. It was impressive for the era. The earliest TV I can remember showing voice recognition was the original Battlestar Galactica -- Adama's log entiries... (1979) (Yes, Star Trek predates it, but I wasn't born when it originally aired.)

RIAA Scolds google to fight piracy

If google wasn't one of the best search engines for finding stuff, this wouldn't be such a bad idea, but since google is one of the best if not the best then this is gonna suck if google complies.

Stop Buying Music

Why is it Google's responsibility to remove search terms?

Re: Stop Buying Music

I as well disagree.......you can type in "Free Porn" and there ya go...two words that "lady gaga.rar download" cant compare. I guess 1 TRILLION people (which is annoying on youtube when looking for a video) search for beiber mp3s. hahaha

it is not their problem.

I can search how to break into a bank vault without setting off the alarms but its still on me to actually commit the act.

Re: Stop Buying Music

Yes, but they alert the FBI when anyone searches for stuff like that. Unless you're on AT&T's network, where they saw you do the search in the first place.
