Very typical of AT&T as well.
A lot of people have Netgear routers on their networks and they default to 10.0.xxx.xxx so they are going to have issues in July.

I have had 3 Netgear routers over the years and have one now. None have had 10.0.xxx.xxx as a subnet. They all had 192.168.x.x as the default.

1 edit | Re: AT&T U-Verse customers are likely to experience issues Same. Carrier grade NAT is a huge stinkfest that is just provoking everything to just break. We have enough issues with NATs at work when people call in wondering why their VPN connection won't work outbound to our servers. Adding carrier grade NAT on top of home NAT is really going to hose up many legitimate services.
On top of that 6rd and tunneling in general isn't going to work too well. It fails to work most of the time without some serious configurations on some connections and on top of that, AT&T's network will just run worse.

My last couple of cable ISPs have used private IP space on the management side of their networks and then handed out routable IP addresses to customers. Perhaps AT&T is making such a transition?

RIM is in deep trouble and has now hired a Wall St firm to explore their sale. Based on their quickly deteriorating financial situation, RIM may be on the block and sold by year end.
»money.cnn.com/2012/05/29/technol···bankers/
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Research in Motion took another step Tuesday toward radically reshaping or selling off the company. The BlackBerry maker hired JPMorgan (JPM, Fortune 500) and RBC Capital to "review" its strategic options.
That's generally corporate jargon for putting a company on the block. RIM's new CEO Thorsten Heins said in late March that he was exploring all options for the company, including a sale.
Shares of RIM (RIMM) were halted in after-hours trading on the news. They fell 13% when trading resumed.
The company is losing its stronghold in the corporate market it once dominated. Rather than receiving company-issued phones, many office workers are now bringing their own devices into work -- often Apple's (AAPL, Fortune 500) iPhone and Google's (GOOG, Fortune 500) Android devices -- and using them as their corporate smartphones.

RIM has failed to try and Lead and they seem to even suck at following. Really they just thought that nobody could challenge them until it was too late, And by that point there was not a chance for them to catch up to the financial power of Google and Apple.
On the enterprise front IT managers are also getting sick of their department's phones ringing whenever the RIM network goes down and employees can no longer get email and internet. the RIM-Net was a single point of failure.
Here is my prediction, RIM is a bad company to buy and I am guessing the primary thing that will be a point for a buyer is their customer list(what is left of it) and their patent warchest. the Patents will likely cop bids from Apple, MS and Google. -- [65 Arcanist]Filan(High Elf) Zone: Broadband Reports

It is sad that nowadays when one hears Class Action Lawsuit nobody who can think actually thinks "Man we are so going to stick it to that mega-corp" and instead thinks. "Those lawyers are going to get a huge payday while the people get ten cents." They still work to punish companies. Each person might only get $10, but the company has to pay millions.
Contrast this with arbitration that usually goes in the company's favor. Or filing in small claims court, which requires each person to make their case individually. Neither approach is likely to be punishing enough to a company to force them to change their behavior.
Customers may not always "win" with class action suits, but they're certainly going to lose without them.

While the settlements were a joke to individual class members, they were no laughing matter to the companies that had to clean up their acts and pay penalties.... now they'll be able to just laugh and tell people to eff off.
I expect you'll see a rise of "Grandma Hammer" justice as cheated and angered customers lash out.... most people however will just take it.
