Youtube is heading in right direction...

There just needs to be a way to pay a single fee to get the ENTIRE internet ad free, not just one site at a time.

You do realize that each site is run by different companies. How would ISPs distribute money to tens of thousands of different companies and how would they decide who gets how much? If you expect my site to be add free then I need to be paid.

If you want the whole internet add free and if the ISPs could somehow handle the payments then I would guess the minimum charge would be $100 a month. That's in addition to your regular internet connection cost. I think I'll put up with ads.

Its called AdBlock.

The wording makes it seem its on a per channel basis rather than site wide which is what I would want but like AnonDude said this would be expensive.

It shouldn't be that expensive... Since advertizing is blocked at my router now they get nothing from me

I'm just saying I'd be willing to financially support content creators the same way I pay for netflix and spotify instead of pirating.

Re: Youtube is heading in right direction...

Problem with Netflix vs Youtube in that situation is one has to split money among a couple dozen companies and the other has to spread it on a couple thousand/million (not sure on the number of YT channels that qualify for monetization and use it) users.
They get your view which goes into some calculation that you may have seen an ad and determines how much the channel gets paid.
I would say for something like a commercial free YT they would have to do a major over haul on how uploading, grouping and how they make money it would probably be cheaper to support a channel you like through Patreon,KickStarter, etc.

I use the MVP hosts file. It seems to block 100% of the ads on YouTube and about 95% of the ads elsewhere.

Adblock on the PCs... Synced with Dropbox... and adblocking via the Router for non adblock enabled devices.
