AT&T & Satellite

I could read this in the tea leaves very quickly after they bought DirecTV.

The only problem? Their satellite customers who still can't get broadband service. AT&T is making their video service wholly dependent upon broadband availability. Their wireline footprint is too limited. Even where they have wireline, much of it is a slower DSL that cannot realistically support a full-featured video service. Their fixed wireless is too limited. Many of their target market will have to use cable broadband (who will likely bundle for convenience and savings), switch to another satellite provider or just set up the old rabbit ears and make do.

Netflix Says No to Apple

Netflix was probably interested until they learned Apple wanted a 30% cut.
