It takes my computer 48 seconds to boot. During that time, if you're like me, you sit there, pretty much staring at the BIOS and Windows screens. Maybe you're even mouth-breathing. Done just once a day, that's 4.9 hours of looking stupid, every year. I'll gladly play $120 to take that off my resume.

We need to introduce these people to »BBR Distributed Computing and give them a reason to keep it on 24/7
Distributed,or single use...doesn't matter;these people NEED to contact AndrewJ immediately and then forget what a power switch is -- Proud Member of: Team Discovery

Re: People actually turn off their computer?
I never turn mine off. There is a lot less wear and tear on your computer if you just leave it on. All six of the ones I have at home stay on all of the time crunching for Team Discovery.
I always laugh at these people that insist on turning their computers off every time they finish using it only to turn it back on and wait for it to boot up a little while later. -- So many wasted years...

Re: People actually turn off their computer?
I personally hate the heat/sound of my computer (I have it in my room) that it gives off during the night. I'll leave it on at night if I'm downloading stuff or if it's a school day (computer has a music alarm clock). But if it's not one of those two conditions I'll gladly wait 40 seconds the day after instead of hearing the hum of a fan and the heat it gives off. -- Join the BBR BF 1942-Vietnam/ Desert Combat clan gaming.broadbandreports.com
