Senators Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Pat Toomey (R-Penn.) Wednesday introduced the Wireless Tax Fairness Act, which aims to protect consumers from ballooning taxation.

The bill addresses a increasing tendency by State and Local governments to cover budget shortfalls by raising taxes on wireless services.

The Wireless Tax Fairness Act would prohibit states from imposing any new taxes on wireless goods and services over the next five years.
