U.S. Robotics, a provider of Internet connectivity solutions, has announced it will expand its product portfolio with a new USB print server and a variety of 802.11g 2.4GHz antennas.
USRs new USB print server makes it easier for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to network and share a USB printer, officials said, while the companys latest line of wireless antennas are designed to improve a wireless networks range and coverage.
Weve been getting a lot of requests from our VAR channel for supplemental antennas that are designed to work with our other wireless products, explained Daryle Brown, global product marketing manager for USR in Schaumberg, Ill. Lets face it, theres a lot of antennas on the market. But weve found producing our own makes it so our VARs are more comfortable doing business when dealing with their customers.
We wanted to ensure were being responsive to our VAR channel partners concerns.
As it becomes more commonplace for printers to come equipped with a USB port, the most inexpensive solution is to connect these printers to the network with a USB to Ethernet print server, Brown said.
