| Re: Comcast is a little nervous! said by fatmanskinny :Like I previously said, Comcast is quick to offer you "discounts" without even asking. I got a one-year reduction on my cable internet without asking in addition to cable television. U-Verse is scheduled to begin deploying in my area near either in the last quarter of this year or the first quarter in the next year. Comcast got their ass handed to them in the Boston area by Verizon FIOS. How do I know this??? The Comcast tech that installed my Digital Voice transferred from the Boston area because Verizon took so many customers from them, his only option was to transfer or lose his job. Considering Comcrap is scared of Knology, one of the worst ever, not shocked. I wonder if all those IFITL customers will get upgraded? AT&T calls me daily to get me to move back from Cox to them. I just use their $400 cashback offer to get a Cox discount. Why would I give up 30/4.6 (till they fix it to 1 down) service for 6/768? -- Saving the world keeps me busy. I wouldn't switch anyways, last I heard, to get U-Verse Internet you have to get TV too. | |

| Re: I wonder if these companies even read what's on DSLR said by fatmanskinny :Our community base provides excellent feedback on their service, how they may improve and more. They all do, despite having to sift through biased reporting (i.e. I couldn't find in the linked article where AT&T mentioned they were "finally" launching, nor did I get a sense of "I know it took us forever, but at long last we're here" connotation from the AT&T statements, but that sort of reporting is to be expected here.) Plus, companies have to sift through 80 "why do I have to pay money for services that I should be entitled to" and a few hundred "these companies shouldn't be trying to make money" (paraphrased, of course) comments before finding a few decent suggestions for improvement that haven't already been thought of or put into motion. The simple fact is that broadband, television, and cell phone service is predominantly dependent on geography - what works for some doesn't work for others; what's available to some isn't available for others. It boils down to who can offer the best service that meet your the consumer's needs, and you make your decision based on that. No big cable/telco companies are holding guns to anyone's heads making them buy their services, and voting with ones pocketbook is the loudest and most effective message a consumer can send, not a forum post. | |

| They probably do. They probably then filter it with the idea that most posters here as of lately seem to be IT guys who have little knowledge of telephony and broadband technology. Then filter it down even more with the idea that most people here have an unrealistic standard. | |

@setardsl.aw | Uverse not available yet in my Doral Area Well it's still not available in my area. I'm also in Miami Dade County, Doral to be more exact.
Even if it was available now, I wouldn't get it as of yet. I really want to see what Comcast is going to offer to compete.

| Re: umm said by brianiscool :Says it is not in my area yet Yeah, full scale deployments rarely fall in line with the press release that says it is available in your market.
Seriously, by the logic of most of the marketing and PR types out there, its available in a market even if just a fraction of people can get it in a given market. If you find that annoying, just image the poor sales, support and billing guys having to field calls telling people that it isn't available. -- --- Over ten plus years of carrying The Clue Bat...
