Nearly one year after the deal was first announced, Verizon Hawaii is scheduled tomorrow to become Hawaiian Telcom upon the close of a $1.6 billion sale to The Carlyle Group.
It will take a 9 month transition period for the transaction to comnplete. In the meantime Verizon will still be providing DSL services for existing Verizon Online DSL customers here for example.
