Give me a nice 1080p TV and high def source, and that's good enough.

Glasses-Free 3DTVs Coming This Year Courtesy Of Toshiba?
According to the Yomiuri Shumbun, Toshiba will release three models of an autostereoscopic 3D TV set before the end of 2010.
Toshiba isn't the only company working on an autostereoscopic TV--that is, one that won't require you to wear glasses to see 3D images. The upcoming Nintendo 3DS will use an autostereoscopic screen, and we've covered the topic in the past. But Toshiba has been working on improving the limitations of 3D TV's for a while, as Engadget points out. | |

| 3D video feeds and projections are not standardized yet. Until there's a clear format winner, I wouldn't drop a single dollar in that market. Paying for cutting edge technology now that's rendered completely useless by platform wars just down the road is too bitter a pill for me to take.
So yeah. You're better off saving your money now, or spending it on a higher quality 1080p TV & HD source. Neither of those will be garbage-worthy for some time. | |

I remember a few years ago when we were looking for a new DVD player. We were in the store and they had one last HD-DVD add on to the 360 left so I grabbed it. My wife said "there are more blu-ray titles so we should get a blu-ray player". Fast forward to a few months later and the HD-DVD was pretty much dead.
I won't admit it to this day but she was right.

In fact, when it comes to HD you have claims from DirecTV, Dish, FIOS, Evil Comcast and Uverse claiming the same title (and in a lot of cases with more channels).
Ultimately isn't it based on the region?
