What happened with all the love between Comcast and Sprint?

| | | | | Re: Comcast and Verizon they're not pushing VZW. Just Comcast is using VZW in the field. It's a common thing to use VZW or Sprint/Nextel for cell phones. thats how they call back to dispatch or to CSRs. | |

(It may differ on SOME systems, but not all) This is different from the Nextel service, which was pulled from many techs in favor of the new Sprint based Symbol.
Some systems even use AT&T wireless but much of that still is left over from systems that were ran by AT&T broadband. And, believe or not, there are still some systems that rely on 2-way dispatch radio still too.

| | | | Under Comcast’s deal with Verizon, the cable company will purchase Verizon Wireless services for its employees. | |

| Verizon being the bully of all bullies?
"The value of the services Comcast purchases from Verizon Wireless would be in the range of $90 million over five years, according to executives familiar with the arrangement. Comcast could purchase additional services that could make the total cost closer to $280 million."
Sounds to me like Verizon is making alot of money anyways...

| | cox v. vz i think cox should counter sue for harrassment ... just my opinion. | |
|
| | Not unheard of before..... I've seen at&t telco field techs use Verizon Wireless too. I believe at&t (formerly SBC) had reached a deal with Verizon Wireless to provide discounted services to their employees. Lots of employees voiced a higher opinion of VZW's wireless network here in SoCal. | |
|
| | What about Vonage? Since Vonage's VOIP network is quite similar to Cox's, and Verizon was suing on the same six patents, how come Vonage can't seek relief? Seems to me that this is selective enforcement. | |
|
| | | Re: What about Vonage? Vonage utilizes the Internet for their calls. Cox does not. These patents were very much centered around Internet Telephony as opposed to just pure VoIP. Also interesting to note - the two patents that were found to be (and are now) invalid, were the exact two that Verizon successfully asserted against Vonage and won. -- Want the most out of BBR? 2 edits | Re: What about Vonage? So, if they were found to be invalid, why can't Vonage get their money back? Verizon sued based upon rights that later were shown to be fraudulent. It seems to me that lawsuits that were based upon claims that Verizon should not have had in the first place should be declared null and void....and Vonage should not only get their $$ back with interest, but should also be able to sue for punitive damages, legal costs, etc. | |
