I sure hope some other pricing or broadband option become available in the next year and a half since my options now are my Verizon/Alltel evdo that was sold to me as an unlimited replacement to dialup. Verizon pricing scares me and alltel never had any problems. Or I think evdo caps should be able to at least match satellites 17 GB for $80. It’s not like Verizon has to launch satellites. I think any terrestrial internet option should be able to exceed satellite. | |

From what I've heard the MCom switch was due to weirdness on Sprint's part. Also, since they're switching to VZW, that means you'll get the same coverage as before, on your Alltel plan. | |

We had two adapters with them and it was a nightmare to cancel them. They wanted to charge us full price for the plastic case the adapters came in, even though they shipped them to us with rubber bands around them ... with no plastic cases. And on top of that, they still expected us to return the adapters.
We got the impression they were run by a few folks out of a basement somewhere, as no one ever answered the phone, voicemails were not returned (and it sounded like they used a tape based answering machine), emails went into a void, and when we did get an response, it was a sporadic email asking for payment for the plastic case, but no answer to our assertion that we never had them.
I think they finally gave up as we haven't heard from them in a few months. | |

I'm with Verizon Wireless now on there $39.99 plan, which ends up being $49.99. Alltel starts giving 5 my-circle numbers at 49.99. While Verizon's lowest plan below their $69.99 plan is their $59.99. That's twenty dollars more are they crazy.

| Some of us are complaining b/c w/ Alltel we could have 20 numbers. And on a single line you got 10 MyCircle numbers for $60 instead of 5.
So basically Verizon has cut the service in half. Maybe that works for some people if 1/2 the people they called were on Verizon. But my MyCircle is populated almost exclusively by AT&T customers.

This becomes a selling point because not everyone has Verizon as their service provider especially since the younger crowd prefers phones with features that Verizon cripples. | |

I am complaining about something and yet it is the best add on ever, especially for VZW but, I think they're going about it the wrong way. Having for the 59.99 individual plan or higher is good because a lot of individuals choose the plan anyway. However, it sucks for family share people. 1400 minutes is a lot. If I had signed up for that plan, I wouldn't need the add on. I think what VZW is really doing is that, they want to advertise that they offer it but, its really only geared towards a smaller group of people who pay a lot. | |

It first says I need to be on a family share plan of 1400 minutes or higher then it says I need to be on a family share plan of 89.99 or higher. I have the family share plan of 700 minutes but, my plan cost me 109.99 for both lines. As my line is the Nationwide Connect and my secondary is the Nationwide Select. So I'm trying to figure out if I really get to have it or not. LOL | |

I also sent an email to the lady on their press release saying that she should correct it since that press release can easily be interpreted as either needing 1400 or more minutes for family share or a plan of 89.99 or higher for two lines which mine complies with the latter. The way these things usually work is they usually can stick you with a new contract if you want to convert to their plans/features/phone upgrade, otherwise you're grandfathered, unless you're forced onto other plans which is rare.
Then there was the dropping of analog coverage not too long ago, basically forcing those customers to upgrade their phone, and plans with the current carriers, if not moving to another carrier as their current carrier didn't treat them very well during this process. | |

| | See Verizon's not handling this properly. They're known as the most expensive carrier of the big three. The one thing they don't have (because they killed it off partially) is a cheaper entry level offering.
A better move would have been to keep Alltel as its own brand, offered the same way as Boost Mobile, leave the plans and stuff alone. Trying to switch them over is going to inevitably result in another Sprint Nextel issue. Yes, I know it's not two different technologies - but the customers expect one thing and are going to get something completely different. Alltel was at the lower end of the pricing spectrum, whereas Verizon is on the complete opposite. I can see people's contracts running out and then being ramped up $20-$40/month. | |
