 Cricket is not a Nationwide provider, of course it will be cheaper. They do not cover roaming or have nationwide cell cites to maintain and operate. With Verizon you are paying for Nationwide coverage as well as the Americas Most Reliable Network. Think about what your saying before you open your mouth. What may be best for you may not be best for another. | |

An individual, 1350 minute plan with unlimited txt/pix/flix is $99/month now. So, for $99 you bump that to unlimited minutes. And Alltel, in this area anyway, is terrible. | |

Umm, don't you even READ DSL reports? There is no 'unlimited data plan'. It's 44.99 for 5GB a month.
How much you want to bet their 'unlimited' data plan has so many restrictions, it's not worth it.
I mean, If I could get TRULY unlimited EDVO (call it 600Kb/sec), that's not a 'bad' price, if your only other option was satellite internet. That's about 180 GB per month for $170.00. Compare that to a satellite, which is about 13GB/month for $99.00, That's pretty much a no brainer, Verizon wins hands down.
However, since Verizon doesn't know the meaning of the word "unlimited", I suspect you will see a 5 or 10GB total bandwidth limit on their plans. | |

One word, Rediculous!My bill will more than double under this new plan since I have 2 cellphones. I can't justify paying over $240 for 2 cellphones. What about the families who have 4 cellphones, they are going to get socked. Getting pretty close to having a car payment.
The only people who are going to benefit from this are the cellphone hogs. There bills will go down while mine goes up. I don't think there is no middle ground here. No reason to double your bill just to get more phone calls. There was only once I went over my limit but I didn't come close to doubling my bill.
Will see if I have to switch over to the new plan or I can keep my current plan until the contract is up. If I have to switch over I can probably cancel without paying a termination fee. I will just get MetroPCS, 2 cellphones with unlimited local and long distance, internet, and text messaging for about $100 a month.
Since Verizon is going unlimited, will they unlock the phones now or charge you extra beyond the new charges? | |

I totally agree. I for one will surely not be signing up for this plan. I have 5 lines on one of my accounts, 2 lines on my second account, and a third account with 1 line. The account with 5 lines is on the 2100 minute family share plan with the unlimited messaging bundle to anyone on any network covering all 5 lines. I receive an 18% discount through my employer. Out of the 2100 minutes, the total usage monthly for all 5 phones is probably on average around 500 minutes. Total texts sent and received for the 5 lines would be around 3500-4000 monthly. Why in the world would I wanna go from paying around 240.00 monthly for the 5 lines to paying over 500.00. They really need to rethink the pricing. | |

They did not want to....obviously....now they HAVE to.....or as soon as wimax comes around, majority will be migrating to wimax phones...you pay wimax monthly fee plus a tiny fee for unlimited voip plan...and vois la...verizon goes kaput...this way...$100 is not a lot of moolah...as opposed to maybe $50 or $60 for wimax plus voip plan....so verizon might stay in business for another 1-2 years...they will make less but will stick around a little bit...beggars aren't choosers and the way it looks, verizon has just taken out it's beggar hat.. | |

Touch tone button charge, 6 dollars a month, Federal reconsistor trade inverter, 10 dollars. losing the FISA immunity bill in Congress recoup all the lawsuits we lost and make the customers pay for us violating the Constitution charge, 20 dollars per month .....etc...etc.. | |

It's a great deal! Well, I think so anyway.
Sure, it's more expensive than a POTS line with the unmetered service, but it's also a mobile and you can take it with you anywhere. Because of that, of course it's going to cost more.
I'm just glad that Sprint and Verizon have gotten on board and decided to offer this.
Sadly, neither T-Mobile or Cin...AT&T offer this. The closest thing AT&T has is their Unity plan: Unlimited calling to other AT&T mobiles and AT&T POTS lines. But minutes are used to call Verizon POTS lines or a mobile on any other carrier.
But, I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if either of them release a similar plan soon. My bet is that T-Mobile would do it first. | |

Who said talk is cheap?I find the Verizon Plan a bit pricey. In January 2003 I signed up with Sprint for a plan that included Two Handsets, 2000 Peak Minutes. Unlimited PCS to PCS calling, Unlimited Vision service. Use of either handset on the plan as a modem. All for $105.00 per month plus crap charges. I had a virtually unlimited plan. During the period I subscribed to the plan, From February 2003 until May 2007 I used no more than 1000 Peak Minutes. I was forced to transfer to Verizon Wireless when I moved and found that Sprint did not provide a signal at my new home. Unfortunately I get 700 Minutes and Mobile Web 2 which is usage sensitive, for about the same rate I was paying Sprint. To get a 2100 Minute plan from Verizon with the same service features, I would pay around $279.00 plus crap charges. On the other hand if I do not need to Roam, I can get a flat rate plan from Metro PCS with no contract for $50.00 per month per handset and a load of features. I hope Sprint comes up with plans similar to Verizon Wireless Plans with lower prices to give Verizon Wireless an incentive to offer lower prices for their plans. | |

Helio already has it...Yup, I use Helio and personally I luv it. I get the best of both worlds and pay less then either of em alone. Granted they don't have the best phone selection but the phones they do have utterly rock.
They have had an unlimited plan since they started basically and kinda funny how the "Big Boys" are finally catching up. The catch here is, everything is unlimited not just voice. Text, Web browsing, messenger services, You Tube, My Space and countless other things all for $99 a month. Sprint and VRZ at this rate will not even come close to what Helio can and does already offer ppl. Sit and compare what is offered by each when it is said and done and you will see where ya would come out better.
Sry bout the rant but ppl make a huge deal out of this just because a "Big" company does it when another company has offered this type of service for over a year. | |
