Verizon announced Thursday that it is building a fiber-optic network in six communities in the Albany and Syracuse regions. The company called it "one of the most significant advancements in telecommunications technology in the past 100 years."
Verizon said the network will deliver faster data speeds and voice as well as having the capability to offer video services to residence and business customers in the town of Bethlehem, as well locations in Onondaga County.
