Verizon product gets good reviews
(old news - 02:12AM Saturday Jan 22 2005)
The type of high-speed Internet service Verizon Communications soon will offer Fort Wayne customers has been receiving favorable reviews for four months from those who already have it in Keller, Texas.

Verizon officials announced this week plans to make fiber-optic technology available to 65,000 homes and businesses in parts of Allen County, including New Haven, at a cost of about $65 million to $75 million. Installation for the service could begin this spring. The service will allow a single line to handle telephones, faxes, the Internet and, eventually, cable television and other entertainment – and could boost efforts to attract new employers to the area.

Good News!

Good news. Hopefully Verizon will speed up its FIOS development plans. They are doing very well in Keller, Texas subscriber wise. Maybe this will make the exec's happy and pump more money into the system?

It will end in tears

I remember early DSL with "bell atlantic" as they were back then - what a disaster. Once VZ have to deal with a larger FIOS customer base, their systems will crack under the strain. They just don't have the organization needed to make so much bandwidth for so many people work.
Just read the complaints of slowdowns at peak times just with their DSL service right now.
