The type of high-speed Internet service Verizon Communications soon will offer Fort Wayne customers has been receiving favorable reviews for four months from those who already have it in Keller, Texas.
Verizon officials announced this week plans to make fiber-optic technology available to 65,000 homes and businesses in parts of Allen County, including New Haven, at a cost of about $65 million to $75 million. Installation for the service could begin this spring. The service will allow a single line to handle telephones, faxes, the Internet and, eventually, cable television and other entertainment and could boost efforts to attract new employers to the area.
