Web Hosting Providers, ISPs Dispute FCC Broadband Rules (old news - 12:32PM Monday Mar 19 2007)
EarthLink, along with other ISPs and Time Warner Telecom, went to court on Friday to dispute the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) decision to free wireline telecom carriers from line-sharing obligations.
The 2005 FCC decision puts telecoms like Verizon and AT&T on an equal regulatory footing with cable modem providers, giving them no obligation to lease their broadband lines to competitors.

I have my fingers crossed for EL, TW, and other ISPs to Win
I for one hope they WIN big. The Telcos have a Monopoly on the copper lines and it was subsidized (with Billions) by us and our parents and our grandparents. They now have their "Long Distance" they wanted in exchange for the original "Line Sharing" so either they keep up the deal or they can have their long distance pulled. -- Whats the point of owning a supercar if you cant scare yourself stupid from time to time?
