Part of the new 1.1.3 update for the iPhone (and iPod touch) includes the ability to save a website on your home screen, directly from Safari.
As a website owner, you have the option of creating and providing a custom icon to represent your site on the user's home screen. Apple has
official documentation explaining all you have to do is create a 57x57 square PNG file called 'apple-touch-icon.png' in the root of your site, and the iPhone/iPod touch will do the rest, adding the rounded edges and glassy look to match the other icons. It's pretty similar in concept to a
favicon, which is now ubiquitous.
Kevin Worthington recommends actually making the icon 158x158 for "maximum crispness" since it will be scaled down on the screen.
I've already made one for
volksfolks.org and
stopforumspam.com, but I have no iPhone or iPod touch to test it out with.
I wonder if this one could be used for DSLR, it's from the
BBR IM Checker widget and was designed by Mospaw
