That's not rising the cost that subscribers pay (at least directly through plan costs). That's the cost to acquire (or retain) a subscriber since they are giving out a $30 rebate.

Or, more in line with Apple-think, require the losers to stop using multipoint touchscreen so Apple gets the exclusive.
Bigger is no longer better, it just means more lawyers.

Wow. Well, let's hope the massive abuse of the patent system will lead to the end of the current patent system. -- "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." -- Benito Mussolini

It's not just the multitouch either--- things like changing contents on the UI as movements are done--- for example rotating your device into portrait mode...
Hell they even patented changing the look of an object when it is selected. WOW. These patents make practically everything in violation of their patents. You could even make the case Windows violates many of these patents.
Wow, just wow. EPIC FAIL USPTO. It's like a bad joke on everyone on the planet but Apple. -- "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." -- Benito Mussolini

What had me laughing was the bit about being faster than the eye can perceive - a television flickers faster than the eye can perceive and that's all of 60 Hertz 50 to thoise on the other side of the pond.
This article being in a business poblication shows it for the snake oil that it is. Sucker every minute etc etc.
