RE: Ipod doomed says Wozniak - theInquirer says so

Read the total distortions by that rag "the INQUIRER" of what Wozniak says:

And then read the actual interview:

Why BBR constantly links to "the INQUIRER" is beyond me. It makes some of those supermarket checkout counter scandal rags look like the WSJ by comparison.

And before anyone says I defend Apple & their fanboys, then you haven't been reading my posts here. But like many rags, "the Inquirer" takes a kernel of truth or a quote and then blows it all out of proportion and gives it meaning that wasn't there.

Ipod doomed says Wozniak

Quote from article: Ipod doomed says Wozniak

said by article :

Woz also said that both Steve Jobs and him hated Apple fanboys who are too stupid to question anything the company does and defend its failures.

He said Steve and him hated the fact that Apple has become a bit of a religion. "Users influence the next generation and with a religion you're not allowed to challenge anything", he said.

The program has money available to it in the form of the funds brought in when the analog spectrum is/was auctioned off.

Re: RE:FCC Chairman Concerned DTV Converted Box Program May Be '

They should put those millions to the bailout. I am sure that the government has not need or contract that says they HAVE to pay for the boxes.

If the advertisers/mega stations abc cbs nbc etc want to reach consumers they can get together and use some of their money to pay for them.

Because this was a government mandated switch over, the funds from the auction were specifically earmarked for transition-related expenses, including the converter boxes. Basically, the conversion was self-funding, using no tax money.

As for the money being used for the bailout, that would be a huge waste of FCC resources and it would not be permitted under the law that authorized the program.

Prediction:

The new administration, if Democrat, will appoint someone with a brain to take over the FCC. The conversion will get put on hold citing the issues in the test city. The transition will be put on hold by a new FCC commission.

Not likely to happen considering that by law the analog shutdown of full power stations takes place less than a month after Inauguration Day.

I hope they refund the cellular companies then.

Of course, T-Mobile just had to sit and wait while the government delayed abandoning the AWS spectrum, so I doubt anyone else will get a better deal either.

There are about 1400 full power commercial TV stations in the country and the transition is costing each one at least several million dollars. Advertisers are already paying.

Let them pay more! We get 100 commercials for every 1 hour it seems. No wonder people are fed up and using tivos or torrenting!

There are a lot of low power stations (most are not legally required to make the transition to digital next February) that they could still pay the cost of the transition for.

Be Traffic Prioritisation

The headline on the article is misleading, it's not about traffic priority, it's about changing the SNR target and interleave on a line to tweak it for stability, speed or latency.

The headline implies application level shaping imho.
