Since we've known for the past 2 years these companies were going with LTE, why is it an indicator of anything at this point? That's like announcing that today's use of AC current shows it the clear victor over a DC infrastructure. -- John M - Cranky network guy

Yep. Also, for fixed wireless WiMAX is relatively widely deployed and LTE isn't. LTE will likely win for mobile and deployments on licensed spectrum (possibly Clear will even switch) but for smaller operators who don't have the luxury of spectrum all to themselves WiMAX is available and LTE isn't.
