Tablets to Outnumber Desktops in Schools Within 5 years Ugh.. I'm starting to wonder if we're over-using technology.
What happened with reading a book or actually doing chemistry in class? What about biology?
I'm wondering if technology is actually dumbing down our children. What happens if the internet crashes or something major happens that takes it out? They won't even know how to look it up in a book or how to put things together because they relied on "googling" everything.
Yes, I love technology.. But there comes a time when you abuse technology, especially when it comes to your children's education. Most of the time teachers are just figureheads reading from a book and don't have a clue about the content. Hell, I could do that.
What we really need is teachers who know the material, can take apart the material and explain it so the entire class can learn it instead of relying on a tablet or desktop to teach it for them. Then if they want to use technology to enhance the learning experience, I'm all for that.
Ahh.. Well, there goes my rant for the day.
