| Re: Obama Nobel Peace Prize Winner - HA! HA! Nobel is a proper name, doncha know.
It is named after the boy who made his fortune in dynamite.
The prize is awarded by Norwegians who must be famous for something, but I do not know what.
Awards are jokes doncha know, Chariots of Fire and Chicago received Academy Awards for Best Picture, who is watching those stupid DVD's on a regular basis.
Nobel does not mean N-O-B-L-E, it has been decades since we have had a NOBLE president, The Promise Breaking Liar President George Bush's dolt of son with the same name was not NOBLE and neither was the peanut brained Jimmah Carter or the great pretender, Albert Gore who also received the Nobel Prize.
President Barry ain't any more noble than that crowd, but he simply be the BLANKEST PAGE to occupy Bwilly CLinton's Oral Office since Calvin Coolige and everybody in the world seems to be rushing to fill in the all the blanks if that be possible.

| Re: Obama Nobel Peace Prize Winner - HA! HA! You missed the context of what truth said. That's what you get for getting your news from only liberal sources.
There are teachers in the US spending their class time having their students sing political indoctrination songs about Obama. One song is set to the music of The Battle Hymn of the Republic and another one is a chant that has the exact phrase that truth put in his post. It's chanted over and over again.
It's pretty scary when our educational system is having students chant and sing slogans about politicians as part of their schooling. That has no place in our schools. Period.
I went back to school after ~30 years in 2001 and was shocked at the political indoctrination that was going on in our public school system. I took a political science class and the teacher did nothing but teach that the US is, and always has been, evil. She would twist facts of history out of time, place, and context, time and time again, and other times just flat out lie. As I'm a US, WWI, and WWII history buff, and knew she was lying I'd argue her "talking" points with her and often proved her wrong. She flunked me out of her class even though my daily work and grasp of the historical facts were of higher quality than those sitting around me, and they were getting high scores.
As far as I'm concerned what that woman was doing in that class was treasonous.

She would twist facts of history out of time, place, and context, time and time again, and other times just flat out lie. I don't see that at classes I've taken at my local community and state college. What I usually see is people who've grown accustomed to "group think" who have difficulty considering alternative views.
An example is the prevalent notion that the founders opposed "big government" when the reality is that they ditched relatively libertarian "small government" (articles of confederation) after just 12 years, in favor of a relatively gargantuan government (1789 federal, constitutional government). The founding generation embraced big government like no other generation since (except, perhaps the Civil War generation who embraced coercing states into the union).
What I see is that some person's view of history is controlled by their political ideology. If they have a strong, biased political ideology they're less capable of viewing history from an unbiased viewpoint. All of history has to lead toward their current (political) worldview. Their political ideology explains history, not the other way around.

I would have thought it was the EFFECTIVENESS of the contribution, using RESULTS to gauge a positive result.
Of course it wasn't any of the above. All the dialog from the Nobel-erites seems to indicate that it was awarded for what The Committee hopes O'Bama would accomplish.
In other words, the Norwegians desire to impress their influence upon future world events (as does the media).
In response, Presient O'Bama wasted - not a second - in accepting the award as a 'Call to Arms' to do exactly that. He has taken their cause as his own (until he doesn't; depending on the desires of other powers).
The lesson? Cash and hookers aren't the only commodities in the political marketplace.

I think that's a good point. How will this award influence the President's future policy decisions? Will he put more effort into the proposals/promises which the award was based upon just so his award isn't tarnished? So it won't be "asterisked" (like that baseball player's record-breaking home run), footnoted with an explanation which diminishes the achievement?
It seems like he's been compromised.

The only cheering I see is coming from Socialists and Marxists, the natural enemies of the US.
Before the Iraq war every intelligence service in the world believed the same thing the US did. They all believed good old Saddam had WMDs. Those countries who ended up criticizing the war were those who didn't like losing the money they were making selling banned weapons and technology to Saddam. Their objections were based on their financial losses, even though they tried hard to obscure that fact. -- "This human struggle and scramble for office, for a way to live without work, will finally test the strength of our institutions,"

After Bush, anything was relief, but Obama's promises (and actions, so far) are of seeking dialog and finding a common ground with most civilized countries/people.

| Obama the Muslum, ruining America from inside out!! HAW HAW, got your attention.
I just wanted everyone to enjoy the picture of my newest friends, "Buzz" and "Gordo".
Gordo has the white ear, while Buzz is the traditional "Tuxedo" with the item in his mouth. Had them since August. My best friend died in July, and I decided to get litter mates.
At first it was a bit rocky. A few bathroom "accidents", but with the exception of a busted screen, and a destroyed Polk speaker it's been smooth sailing since. When I open my bedroom door in the morning, it's a full frontal kitten assault. I'm a amazed at how much they have taken to me. I miss my old friend, but bringing new friends into my home was so the right thing to do.
Their mother was hit by a car when they were but a few weeks old, and they had to be hand weened by a foster family at Forgotten Cats in Northern DE/SE PA. They're great kittens, and I have no doubt they will be awesome cats when they reach adulthood. The few weeks the house was empty was so painful. I still mourn the loss of my friend of 15 years back in July. Post here.
»Goodby little buddy, good riddance bad week
But, these little guys might not have found a home that loves them so much if not for the passing of my friend. Wow, I can really say I loved that cat like family. He was so special. But I have young ones to look after. Looking back on things a few short months ago, I wouldn't be enjoying watching these guys grow up in front of me had my old friend not left my life.
So much to ponder. The bottom line is, these little guys are a barrel of laughs. I love them ....

| Nothing is surprising any more! I have gotten over saying comments like " I can't believe that" I now say every morning of my life what will happen today. I mean does anything surprise us any more. Right is wrong and wrong is right, that's the way most items go down now. Everyone has always had an opinion about everything but the difference now is no one budges on their opinion even if they know they could be wrong. Well why should they when it doesn't make a difference. Nothing ever gets accomplished from an individual scale to a federal government scale because no one budges on an idea or opinion, all they do is argue and everyone around them loses. I mean no one every gains anything from everyone arguing.
What the Bush's did in the White House is over, we can not live in the past so why blame everything on Bush and the past. If it would change things now then it would be a good thing but it won't it just breeds more anger.
I don't look at government in the view of democrat or republican, white man or black man. I look at it from a right or wrong point of view. What the elected officials do, should be based on morals of right and wrong. Most of us were taught from birth to adults, right and wrong by our parents but as adults we tend to forget our teachings. For the people holding office, treat your job as a business not a club and base your decisions on the morals of right and wrong.
The United States is at a crossroads on many things, the moves that are made in the next 8 years will make us or break us. I don't care who gets the Nobel Peace Prize but I do care about how many troops get killed in foreign countries, I do care if Iran gets Nuclear weapons, I do care if our government goes broke borrowing money from China, I do care about terrorist activities in America. They could have given the Nobel Peace Prize to Ned the wine-o and it would not have bothered me in the least bit but when I hear about another one of our troops getting killed I get mad.

I was listening to an interview with Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin. She was lamenting how media coverage of their protests abruptly stopped following the elections.
For the first time, the group is having difficulty getting interviewed. It appears she no longer has the press outlet where Code Pink might express any concerns of the President's handling of the war.
This article has been making the rounds as well. »www.washingtonexaminer.com/polit···012.html
It seems the press is disconnecting from the only detail of our soldiers service that ever really held their attention.
My personal observation is that most people I know that had been consistently angry about the war since it's start, don't express anger about it anymore.
Regardless of any of this, I hope you find peace.

I was listening to an interview with Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin. She was lamenting how media coverage of their protests abruptly stopped following the elections. I suspect it has more to do with the sharp decline in US casualties in Iraq (scroll to bottom to see red graph).
Casualties in Afghanistan are sharply higher. But, throughout the anti-Bush, anti-war movement it seemed like the public was opposed to the Iraq war, angry that we weren't focusing on Afghanistan. I got the impression the public wasn't angry over war casualties, but casualties due to a "mistake war." I.e., the frequently heard "how do you ask someone to be the last person to die for a mistake?"
The difference in sentiment about the two wars probably has something to do with the reduction in publicity. Anti-war groups probably don't want to admit that. They used sentiment against the Iraq war for a larger anti-war goal that I don't believe the public supported.

Holy Mother of Bo'B; where to begin? I've just completed reading a BBC article on Global Cooling Global Warming Global Climate Change that not only acknowledged the existence of a countering point of view, it allowed uncensored quotes from the people who held them. Yea, I thought the same thing. But it's no spoof.
Plainly put: I was amazed beyond all recollection.
I quickly ran outside, triangulated the stars and confirmed my planet...
I thoughtfully returned inside. I suddenly found myself sobered by the thought that the author will be found dead in the morning, from an apparent accidental overdose of arsenic.
Anyway, it was an interesting bit of cosmic introspection. Mentioned, was that there are non-man-made factors that could conceivably affect the temperature of the Earth.
YES it's blasphemy; even Dangerous Rhetoric of the Highest Order. But it was also compelling. Reading it made me feel a little dangerous; like some kind of rebel.
It was as if Al Gore didn't have to pre-form ALL of my thoughts for me.
Ya know; I've heard it theorized that the 1.99e30 kg mass of The Sun yielding 1.37e3J of energy on each square meter of the Earth exposed to it might have a greater impact on the Earth's temperature than every single Hummer in Santa Barbara County Combined.
Woah. You heard that right. The SUN is really that full of awesome power.
But then again, that's just a theory and Hummers are evil - EVIL. Um, on 2nd thought Brothers and Sisters, I take it all back. Tell the NSAT&T monitors that I'm repenting right now of these filthy thoughts. They've no need to send anyone around.
In fact I'm going right this instant to my closest Bo'B reorientation clinic to be exposed to an ever-changing stream of reasonable dialog, full of hope, change and cooperative effort.

| Re: The BBC, End Times & You. Think about it this way. We have ice on this planet, what happens when the surrounding water warms around it? They break apart and float into areas that don't normally have them. The fresh water won't mix with the salt water and parts of the oceans stagnate, which should grow even colder. So in theory we should all be experiencing longer, colder winters for a period of time before everything really takes a turn for the worse. Seeing as how it's already cold as fuck now I'll bet you this winter will be nasty. --
You can't make all the people happy all of the time. But it should be common sense to shoot for the majority.

| Windows 7 Ultimate 7600 DUMP Looks like Redmond pulled the trigger, I was wondering how long they would let it ride.
My test box with 7 ultimate 7600 started reporting 'Not Genuine' this morning.
Just a FYI
