| | | Remember to turn on airplane mode, or it will continue to power the cellular part SIM inserted or not. Wifi & bluetooth work while in airplane mode. You can also get a blank SIM in case you ever want to make emergency calls, all other cell features would be disabled in that case. iPhone i believe comes with a blank SIM for this very reason. Also remember that GPS won't work because it needs a data connection & wifi isnt very useful out on the road.

| Yes it will work and I would recommend leaving in the unactivated sim just so you don't keep getting reminders that there is no sim.
Also if you do upgrade it via Itunes after you have deactivated the line with ATT just use PwnageTool or any of the activators to reactivate it so you can use the new features and not get stuck up with it asking to activate the phone.
The trick is that you just need to jailbreak it from there on out if you are going to keep upgrading the phone while it is off of ATT service. That's why you want to keep the sim card around and why you want to use the Pwnage Tool to do it. I used my iphone as an ipod touch for awhile and that is what I did to make sure I could use it with out being on ATT. -- Looking to get into Avaya telco if you might be in that field hit me up I have a lot of questions.

ThrowDemsOutIf you can't convince 'em, confuse 'emPremium join:2002-03-03 Mullica Hill, NJ kudos:4 | ICANN OKs non-Latin alphabets for domain names and email adr
This does simplify things for many, many countries. But the downside is a potential segmenting of the internet and even more opportunities for malware purveyors.
»tech.yahoo.com/news/pcworld/2009···getheweb
The decision by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) that Web sites written in Russian, Chinese, Arabic, and other non-ASCII character sets will be able to have their Internet domain names displayed in their own languages truly makes the Web a global worldwide network. No longer will entire countries be forced to use Latin-based characters and their Web addresses and e-mail addresses will now be as recognizable as their telephone book.
"The net result will be an expansion of the Internet in terms of resources and users. Small local businesses are likely to benefit as their Internet and e-mail address can now be in their own local language," according to a writer for Asia Times Online.
Yet on the other hand, the new names carry risks for new security concerns and general user confusion. Some fear the Web might grow increasingly fragmented into areas easily accessible only to those conversant in local languages. But ICANN's actions, although well intended, also raise nuts-and-bolts questions that are yet to be answered. How will you be able to type the domain names of international Web sites when your keyboard doesn't support their character sets? It's true that you can download fonts used in these languages, along with "virtual keyboard layouts" that spare you the need to buy separate physical keyboards. It looks as though we could see the development of a whole new class of Web domains that most people won't be able to get to easily -- even though they might be able to find those Web sites with a search engine. Certainly language translation services and technology may be the biggest winners with today's news. I predict both will flourish along with an international land grab for variations of the word "sex" dot-com. -- My BLOG .. .. Internet News .. .. My Web Page

I updated my storm 2 days ago and the difference is night & day. If you have a storm I highly recommend this update. It really is like a new phone. You won't be dissapointed.
On a side note, the new server for my PT job arrived today. I don't have admin access, I AM the admin. Pretty exciting. I got to spec and implement the whole system. Server and 6 terminals. Yeah, its small but its mine and IM THE ADMIN!

| | Vacation, vacation, vacationing Well, I just got back from Mexico last week (Saturday) and was working all week. Had a bout with some kind of bug that had me squirting Hersheys for a couple of days. It started Monday at work a little after 10 a.m. It's funny how I felt my body literally going downhill in a matter of hours. I had no choice but to stay because I carpooled with my roommate. I had to take Tuesday off but was feeling good enough to go Wednesday. I just couldn't go up stairs, just down. I would use the downstairs bathroom for more privacy.
Well, I looking forward to my next vacation in about 1 1/2 weeks. I start on November 11th (Veterans Day) and it finishes December 2nd. In that one, I'll be driving cross country (again!! ) to Florida to drop off my mother's car to my niece.
After all that time off, I still have left over for another two weeks which I will be planning for when I come back in December . -- Illegal aliens have always been a problem in the United States. Ask any Indian. Robert Orben

stevennbOk, But, Thats The Last Straw.Premium join:2001-05-08 Wayne, NJ | Wish me luck.... A while back I posted that I finally got a job (I guess this was back in July/August). I work for a company that makes Heart Shunts, Vessel Harvesting devices, etc.
I do QA work for them. I come in early, stay late when asked too and I think I'm a "team player" (arhhh corp speak!).
So anyways, we had a meeting with the Supervisor 2 weeks ago and he said that the company is prepared to hire 80% of us. I like to think that I'd be hired as I'm one of 2 QA inspectors. We were told that the hiring process should commence within the first 2 weeks of November.
It would be nice to be hired permanently as I'd get a bump up in pay (I'm only a temp now), medical benefits, sick and personal time, vacation time and I suppose a 401k.
So wish me luck...I'd like to be part of that 80% that get's the nod/the thumbs up,etc. -- "They moved my desk 4 times already this year and I used to be over by the window and I could see the squirrels and they were married, but then they moved my desk and they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler.
