The labor in that area should be cheap. A half-mile of gravel should cost less than $1 million.
It sounds like they're importing gravel and machinery (plus operators) from more expensive areas. So, the stimulus will be for those areas (and the mariners who transport everything).

Here in a few minutes I am going to go start a large tire fire, I'm going to go turn on all my appliances, and I'm going to start my dish van and my pickup truck and let them run idle. | Finally Finally got rid of the loaner Blackberry 8830. (spare phone at the office) I've been using it for about 4 months after my Mogul died. I've always hated Blackberries, even supporting them. (I work for a multi-service provider IT company).
Well today I got the okay to go get a replacement, and went with HTC Hero, running the Google Android OS, over the Palm Treo Pro that I was leaning towards. I've gotta say the Android OS is pretty slick, and I'm liking the phone alot, with it's 5MP camera and full flash support. Waaaaayyyy better browser than the Blackberry browser, tons of free aplications, and it's linux. What else do you need? I need a beer. | |

(Could it be that is because there is no such thing as the liberal media, outside of a few shows on MSNBC). I thought he did pretty good. But, he did control the stage, with far more talk time than his critics. Not like a debate.
I'm curious if the questions were provided to him in advance. If so, he was exceptional at thinking on his feet. But, I bet he had time to prepare. (A couple of responses sounded far too detailed to have been top-of-mind).
He reminds me of President Reagan in some ways. Very good camera presence. And, very disarming in the face of polarized politics (from either extreme).
I like that latter part. The polarized extremes rely upon each other to play the game that there is a massive difference between each other, a fight between "good and evil, light and darkness." All the country's problems are due to the other side.
I like the way Obama treats that as just politics, doesn't take it personally, reduces the ideologues down to the religious sect they are.
