Amen to that!

It's in the low 70's here in PA, no humidity to speak of, and a clear blue sky.

It's nice to finally be able to open up all the windows and skylights.

It's also nice that being cooler, my laptop isn't overheating while I have it outside on the deck...

Sprint wants people to jump from Verizon/AT&T

Looks like Sprint will be trying hard to get people to jump from AT&T & Verizon by offering a $400 credit for new Family plans with 3 lines.

We'll be jumping ship from the deathstar but not before the 15th! Wonder how much that will attract in new customers.

Sprint only saves you $10 a month if you only have one line. I'd rather go with Virgin Mobile... Same network as sprint but far better pricing.

Backfeed! There you are!

I was wondering where you'd gotten to.

Hope things are well with you and the Mrs., and that you're enjoying some nice weather and doing outdoor things.

It's a bit on the cool side today, a wee taste of fall. I love it. I can finally open up all the windows instead of turning on the a/c.

Have a good weekend my friend.

Go to Yard and Estate sales to buy stuff to sell on Ebay, it get me out of the house.
Some times I score like buying a $20 enterprise router and turns out I sold it for over $150.00. or a prayer book I bout for $2 and sold it for $270. Other times I lick my wounds and take the stuff to Good Will.

I will double down on the sleep suggestion. But, if sleep is not your thing, or you're just not tired...

Do some online digging. See what museums are within "striking" distance of your abode (I say striking distance as I don't know if you drive). There's probably something of interest in the area. The local farmers market is always good for "people watching". My favorite is Reading Terminal Market in Philly.

If all else fails, go to the local pub, watch a ball game, and forget about work. That's the important thing. Forget about work.....

Hmmmm for most the weekend is simply an extension of the workweek only instead of being paid work for someone else its a honey do workend.

Don't feel bad. My husband also has quite an extensive honey-do list.

Think of it this way, getting stuff done around the house on the weekends keeps us wives happy, and that's always a good thing.

I don't get to Philly too often, but we just love the Reading Terminal Market. Lots of good stuff there.

Watching a ball game is always good too.

Summer, and not working- is spending every minute I can outside on the deck. With my laptop, of course.

Thank God for wifi...

That, and pigging out on *real* tomatoes...

Re: When everyday is your weekend.

Jazz, RTM is in my top five favorite places right up there with Citizens Bank Park (was a fav long before the Phils won the Series), lake Wallenpaupuck in the Poconos ( a friend took me up there a few years ago & I was hooked), and Dublin Ireland. Oh, and not to be left off the list, Ft. Liquor ER Lauderdale, Florida. My fav in Liquordale is the Hyatt Pier 66. Nice, but not snooty like the Sheraton on A1A. Water taxi off the back end of the marina, and the coolest late nite crowd in the pool area. I was down there in Feb. for a post job loss couple days off, truly cathartic for me.

Oh, and there's this little German bar right off A1A down an alley next to what USED to be the Doubletree and if memory serves is now a Courtyard by Marriott that's pretty damn cool.

I imbibed a bit too much while I was down there. It was my first time in about 6 years. When I left I kinda had that "had enough of 'Lauderdale" feeling but I find myself ready to plan my next mid winter trip.

What a joy it is to have some good memories to bring us through the rough times.....

N3OGH,
Sorry to hear about the job loss. Hope you have that sorted out now.

My husband is out of work too. Lots of resumes submitted, no responses though.

We're kind of partial to Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh. We really enjoyed it there.

Oh, and of course the Skydome in Toronto. They didn't even have to play the game- just watching that thing go from fully closed to fully open was a show in itself.

Either that, or I'm just easily amused... LOL

Our favorite place on earth is Montreal. We go several times a year, in all seasons. There's a couple of fabulous farmer's markets there like RTM that we visit each trip.

We're thinking mid-winter trip as well to FL. Never been to Lauderdale, but we have friends on the Space Coast who we haven't seen in 2 years, and I'm thinking a January or February visit might be a good idea.

We all have rough patches. Family and friends get us through those better than anything else I think.

Hang in there.

Facebook stock now at 50% of IPO price

»apnews.myway.com//articl ··· JG0.html

Facebook's stock fell to $19 for the first time on Friday, losing half its market value since the company's initial public offering in May.

The stock dipped 87 cents, or 4 percent, to briefly hit $19, just minutes before it closed the trading day at $19.05. Facebook's shares ended the week down nearly 13 percent.

Facebook's stock has struggled since the company's mid-May IPO. It closed its first day of trading barely above its initial offering price of $38. It has been below that level since.

The stock has been down on 38 trading days, up on 25 days and unchanged on one since its initial public offering.

Investors have been concerned about the social network's ability to increase revenue and make money from its growing mobile audience. Many analysts, however, hold positive opinions of the company's long-term prospects.

You can see this as a buying opportunity or like some analysts wait even longer as they still think Facebook is overpriced.

Whatever your opinion, the IPO buyers must feel they were suckered by all the IPO hype.

It's over priced because the majority of the investors are addicted Farcebook fanboys.

There's no buying opportunity here.

Facebook shares faced heavy selling as the first of many "lock-up" shares became free trading recently. There's still lots to come with the last not becoming free trading until May next year - one year from the IPO date.

Perhaps it is time for the Facebook founders to buy out all the shares and take the company private again.

I thought they wanted to stay private all along but were required to go public due to the number of shares.

It wasn't the number of shares but the number of shareholders. But they will never make it as a public company. Their only product is everyone's personal information and there are real limits as to what you can do with that.

At the tip of course. After the first one to loosen up it is double fisted the rest of the way.

what happened

Call me crazy but I posted here yesterday (friday) and was even the first poster but my post (and the forum) was deleted and this is listed as a six hour old forum.
