iOS7 quick settings rips off Android - sounds like lawsuit
iOS 7 comes out with the swipe from bottom quick settings feature, which is a straight ripoff of the Android feature. If Apple had come up with that 1st and patented it, they would be suing everyone in sight. Maybe Google should sue Apple for patent infringement.
Re: iOS7 quick settings rips off Android - sounds like lawsuit
I really had to laugh this week. My supervisor (who is a die hard apple fan) decided to update his phone to iOS7. He didn't have enough space to do it and had to clear off all his music. He thought it was fine, he'd just hook it back up to iTunes and resync. So, he went to his computer to resync and found out that his version of iTunes didn't want to play with iOS7. So he went to download the new version and found out his version of OS didn't support the new version of iTunes. So much for the "It simply works"
That's true if you keep it tethered to you and have nothing of value. If a woman carries around her purse, man carries around a wallet, or a doctor takes his laptop with him. Those are all security risk.
That doesn't mean that it should be ignored. The authentication system is a second line of security. If that security is useless then anyone with dubious means can gain easy access to private information. NO matter what we do these devices are never 100% secure but having an extra line of defense that blocks the average person sure helps.
Simply saying, as long as it doesn't get in the wrong hands is a dangerous outlook. I'd rather have a patched OS ASAP with less risk. The possibility of someone exploiting this so easy on my unpatched device isn't worth taking the risk.
Its the same thing that happened to the administrators of PSN. They knew about the security risk but assumed it wouldn't get exploited so no action was taken until afterwords. A lot of personal information was leaked do to negligence. Ignoring a security flaw this big with an excuse like that is pure user negligence.
Saw that when it was discovered and posted. Personally, I don't keep any private information on my phone except for contact numbers. Also, these phones have too many vulnerabilities. This includes Android phones and basically any phone that is networked (all phones)....
I live in an rural area, Verizon is the only carrier we get service without being dropped. There is also AT&T, T-Mobile. Rich!!!! Far from. Its a family plan that we have 4 others on the account besides my wife who are obligated to pay their part. We NO way pay the entire thing out of me and my wifes income

Re: One more payment
Since grandma and mom use the dumb phones on my account, mom gives me $60 a month towards the bill ($30x2). She pays for grandma's phone along with hers. It's cheaper for her and grandma to be on my account than for them to have their own account.
I am in shock. I just picked up some new cars on a wine run to Wal-Mart and I took one out of the card today to discover it has full tread rubber tires. I have NEVER seen a HW with anything other than hard plastic tires.
I also snagged another M2 Machines car. They are what old Matchbox cars were like and then some. Opening doors, Hood.
Now say hello to my new Ford F-150. It's not exactly just like my truck but damn close enough. Mine is the super crew 2010 and this is the Lariat extended cab 2006.

Re: Hot Wheels with Rubber Tires!!
Are those standard matchbox scale 1/64, 1/48 or 1/32 scale?
It looks like I'm at a dead end! Anyone have any suggestions to help me find one? »Puffypaws

Re: Dead End
You are either going to have to come up with the $$ for the one off or keep looking. You might try this place in Brooklyn Reds. I fixed their phone once (a LONG time ago!) and just remember a huge warehouse full of forgotten toys. A long shot if they are even still in business but, hey.
Just out of curiosity, what would you do with it if you got it? Leave it in the box as a collectible or leave it inflated and use it for decoration or...?
Thank you for helping me I don't want to put down $1600 it will be only last resort because with my luck a seam would go on the first inflation! I've had to replace a 30 pin cord because the seam on the front broke and a laptop power supply melt on me. I could go on for hours talking about my bad luck!
And I would probably keep it inflated if I find one and take it down to the lake (That's lake Erie for non Cleveland people I would deflate it and bring a pump with me of course!) I might try a big warehouse like that in Cleveland!
