Free download software for VoIP technology
(old news - 03:28PM Sunday Feb 04 2007)
tags: wireless · VoIP
What is fring? “A new product (that) is doing the rounds of internet which promises to provide access to Skype and Google Talk accounts over 3G or Wi-Fi networks for mobile users,” at least according to EARTHtimes.org. The report also claims that “fring is changing the way people interact on a daily basis bringing choices to consumers & allowing them to declare their mobile independence through continuous availability over 3G, GPRS and Wi-Fi, with no PC-dependency, no call-backs, no air-time charges and no need for special handsets.” The software is available for free download online. Will it live up to its hype?

This stuff sucks

Had it for a while and really slowed everything down and didn't work at all.

someday i hope...

great idea but it does have flaws. I thought this would be a great idea but the data connections are too pricey at the moment. maybe it is too far from its time.

Re: someday i hope...

as far as i'm concerned it's useless as it only works with Nokia handsets.

Nokia #1

Just fyi Nokia is the number one cell phone maker in the US. Although i will not buy another Nokia again (along with Audiovox)they are the most popular. Now if it would work with motorola. Or even better if siemens could make some cdma phones and if fray would work with them (on verizon). that would be nice

Re: Nokia #1

I used to use Nokia but i agree I don't like any Nokia phones now.. just don't stand out.

only 2 brands I care about for cellphones are Samsung and motorola.. it seems they are getting better (motorola) as far as offering more features in the phones.
