The opening up of spectrum white spaces has spurred the proliferation of numerous ideas about how to best use that space. The White Spaces Coalition is working on getting FCC approval for their spectrum-seeking device, Google has proposed real-time auction use of the spectrum and other innovators are getting their ideas prepared to get involved in the game. All of these creative ideas are making it difficult for the people in charge to determine the best way to utilize the spectrum. A one-day event to be held in Washington D.C. next week will spark more conversation to add to the topic.
