Those reasons are stupid

Why are people comparing CV service to Vonage service when CV has only been in the game for less than 12 mos? Vonage has a heavy advertisement campaign and has built a name up as the "AOL" of VoIP.

For a company that I've never seen an advertisement of and in 8 months has brought in over 53k subscribers (seemingly from word of mouth and the weight of AT&T's name), I say CV will be the clear winner in the long run.

Give it time. I've heard about some exciting things in the pipeline. I also guess that closer to the merger date, you'll see CV pushed much more heavily since SBC has already said it will be the centerpiece of their consumer offerings.

SBC did say that they wouldn't push AT&T CV until after they have completed their $4 billion fiber deployment, which should be complete by mid to late 2007.

SBC's biggest problem in pushing AT&T CV nationwide is that SBC is currently only a regional company like QWEST.

You must have missed the Olympics in the US!

As for the future of communications and voip;
Don't put all of your eggs in one hat. There are some huge changes on the horizon and there are not any clear winners, just survivors. CV and other quality voip and for that matter all communication providers are going to be fighting the non ending battle for survival and market share.
Only time will tell.
