been persistent in trying to make sure that their dream of a citywide wireless network will be achieved despite the delays caused by problems with Earthlink. A step forward has been made towards that goal since Wireless Philadelphia has just
been awarded its first National Foundation Grant. The goal of Wireless Philadelphia is to use citywide wireless to bridge the digital divide. The $50,000 grant will be used to set up micro-sites for six different health and social service agencies in the city. This is designed to create a way to use the Internet to provide information to populations in need. This is a drop in the bucket when it comes to bridging the digital divide but its a start.
