| No bots One thing I hope doesn't get carried over is the use of bots. I mean the legitimate type of bots that are used to fill game spaces.
If you remember Star Wars: Battlefront on the PS2 had the ability to connect to the PC hosts and play them. Well it took forever to find servers sometimes that had bots turned off.
I'm not sure if I am making sense here, but it makes sense to me

| Re: No bots I hope not. I doubt that MS will allow bots as MS runs the LIVE servers. And this update just makes it more cluttered. I'd rather have the feature to chat as a group (all friends talking or queuing). The controller looks like a cheap render. I would not want this. A bluetooth keyboard, I can deal with.
Why does this seem like the evolution to a console is devolving back to a screen, CPU and mouse/keyboard?

This is what I'm worring about too. I'm an avid Rainbow Six: Vegas player, and I'm already having a tough time being some of the elite-ranked players on that game. I can hold my own, but I'm clearly not in the top 25% yet.
That being said, once they introduce the keyboard, etc. it's the end of the road. -- "When you get lost in your imaginatory vagueness, your foresight becomes a nimble vagrant."

Dunno why the the decision to NOT have mouse support in most xbox360 games. You would think that feature would draw HUGE numbers of additional gamers to buy the 360 instead of settling for a typically underpowered pc.

I was heavily into gaming a while back - but the jerks using patches or hacks on the game I was playing ruined it for everyone. Even the company running the servers gave up. I was even accused of being a cheater -- but I was just good. People couldn't beat me without using a hack. This was on the 3D PC version of BattleZone. I just got myself a 360, but I only have a couple of games. Not sure I want to get online with it because I know it's just a matter of time before people ruin it. I'll just be happy playing with an opponent sitting next to me or against the computer.

I know Dvorak typists who say it's a superior technique to QWERTY... much more intuitive and natural. Then again Betamax was a much higher quality video cassette than VHS. Sometimes better doesn't end up the standard.

Sometimes better doesn't end up the standard. first off not sure where you got that statistic from, but yes in the US it is predominantly QWERTY.
BUT: in other countries QWERTZ and AZERTY are just as common. It is not difficult to imagine support for these layouts being added, and then why not add in dvorak as well? Don't get me wrong. I would love not to be correct on this and a future update does give that kind of customizability. I just don't think it will.

I think in the end developers fill that most people would rather play with a controller because it is a more appropriate impute device for a game being played on a couch.
As for the games that do support PC vs. Console. every one i have read up on the developer have stated that they had made tweaks so that keyboard and controller users would be on a level playing field.
