Xohm Soft Launch Set For Year’s End

Last week, there were reports that Sprint would be soft launching Xohm in three markets within a few days. RCR Wireless News reports that the soft launch will indeed happen sometime within the next few weeks. The soft launch will begin by Christmas with testing by several hundred Sprint employees. The second stage of the soft launch, in which the number of participants testing Xohm will be expanded, is set to happen in early 2008.

If it is anything like the EVDO service they will underestimate capacity needs by about an order of magnitude.

Oversubscribed? I have never had any problems with the service itself. AT&T = Slow Internet Verizon = Unlimited bandwidth (with limits) Yes recently Verizon changed their policy but they used this marketing tactic for a while now. Verizon has a lot of limits on what you can use their EVDO service for.

I added EVDO the second Sprint rolled it out and have enjoyed the service ever since. Your experience may have differed of course, but I'll be sticking with Sprint "Power Vision" for the foreseeable future.

 Have had Sprint EVDO as my home+mobile connection for almost a year (meaning I use it daily) and haven't had any issues that resemble oversubscription.

Sprint...

Sprint isn't perfect like any other company but ever since Sprint merged with Nextel everything has been more of a mess & most recently switching to a new billing system.

Switching over to the new billing system my exp on my contract on one of my lines mysteriously changed, and other changes...

We are not perfect.

Yeah Yeah,

We are having issues with this new billing system and i must agree with the customers it sucks and i work for the company. Its horrible to deal with but guess what, when ATT wireless merged with Cingular they had a worse time. Every company has their issues we are not perfect either.

Soft Launch has already STARTED

I was speaking to the director of staff operations and CTO at XOHM and she said the soft launch for sprint employees started on the 10th of December. Five days ago..... I am located in the herdon reston area right around the corner from the sprint nextel headquarters.
