Threatens to sue anyone who says otherwise...

Last month, news outlets began digging into mobile operator Zer01, and noting that the company was engaged in some dubious marketing endeavors with some questionable people, and despite promising dirt cheap mobile VoIP and data, still hadn't shown anybody a concrete product. The company has been trying to salvage things by blaming most of the problems on MLM partners Buzzirk and Global Verge, and yesterday took things further by announcing they'd terminated their relationship with both companies.

"The Zer01 Mobile team wishes Buzzirk Mobile the best of luck for all future endeavors. However, Zer01 Mobile has decided to formally sever our business relationship due to the breach of contract by Buzzirk Mobile," stated Lance Dascotte, COO, Zer01 Mobile, in a prepared statement.

In an interesting move, the company went on to threaten the press, who in recent weeks have been ripping the company apart for its marketing choices and non-existent product, and in some cases even taking back awards handed out earlier this year at CTIA. According to Zer01, the problem apparently wasn't their claims or choice of business partners, but various media outlets :
Currently, our counsel is in the process of preparing a response to these false and misleading statements. Our company reserves all its legal rights and remedies that may arise from any and all erroneous and untrue statements made by third parties. We consider the reputation and integrity of Zer01 Mobile to be of utmost importance to our future success and we intend to vigilantly defend it," concluded Dascotte.
Certainly threatening legal action against all the news outlets highlighting Zer01's poor business decisions will make things much better.

They could prove everyone wrong if they just launched a product.

According to this also ended deal with Global Verge as well

»tech.yahoo.com/news/pcworld/2009···wsetback
Zer01 Mobile, the company that says it can deliver a true unlimited mobile-phone service, announced on Thursday that it has ended its relationship with network marketing company Global Verge.

Zer01 now blames Global Verge for the issues that have cast doubt on its legitimacy.

Reports have erred by applying facts about the backgrounds of Buzzirk executives to Zer01, the company said Thursday. Buzzirk's parent company, Global Verge, was founded by a man who was convicted for securities fraud.

Ha!

They can't launch a product because they are upset by the world's reaction to not launching a product. Zer01. ZERO. Get it?

Re: Ha!

I'd like to see proof that they even have the appropriate MVNO agreements in place with either TMobile or ATT (or both).

Re: Ha!

They are not an MVNO. They are not re selling any carrier minutes or data. They are only accessing the GSM towers and they have a co lo arrangement with the carriers. Which means they have servers and bandwidth running in to the facilities of their partners.

Also, why is everyone tearing Zer01 apart when it was Globalverge and Buzzirk making outlandish claims. I guess if a sales person for aa t-mobile retail store makes an untrue claim we should sue t-mobile and call them a scam. Give me a break!!

More Global Verge Intel

We've done some extensive investigation into Global Verge (Buzzirk Mobile) and their previous incarnations (they were called e-Verge and BizBuzz back on '06 when they promised technology they never delivered). Every place we dug, we found dirt.
